1st: Thanks!! I was just thinking the other day how usefull something like this would be
2nd: i can get the minecraft.exe to run, but nothing else seems to want to run

IE: First Line; INVedit
     Second Line; "C:\Users\Robbie\Saved Games\MinerWork 2\Editors\INVedit\INVedit.exe"

when I go to run it I get an "INVedit has stopped working' message. it works fine outside of the smartlauncher

IE2: First Line; MST (Minecraft Topographical Survey)
       Second Line;  "C:\Users\Robbie\Saved Games\MinerWork 2\Editors\MTS-0.2.1\minecraftImager.jar"

when I run that I get this message, "The following command could not be run: "C:\Users\Robbie\Saved Games\MinerWork 2\Editors\MTS-0.2.1\minecraftImager.jar"

I get that second error message with every other program I use, INVedit being the only one thats special

I've got windows 7,so I'll let you know if the run on startup works later
EDIT: Run on startup works for me

Sorry I couldn't reply sooner.

About your second problem, jar files must be run with the following command:
Java -jar "C:\Users\Robbie\Saved Games\MinerWork 2\Editors\MTS-0.2.1\minecraftImager.jar"

This also applies to any other files that aren't applications such as a text file.

About your first problem, it should have worked fine.
All I can say is make sure the path is correct.

I think I may know what happened with the first program.
I encountered this when seeing if automatic server running worked.
For some reason the programs check for files in the directory that the SmartLauncher is placed in rather than the folder the actual program is in. A quick fix would be to place the SmartLauncher in the same folder as the program, however that would defeat the purpose.

I'll Try to get this fixed asap.

The Java -jar thing worked perfect as did placing the file in my INVedit folder. Is there a parameter to open a folder say if i use cartograph then have to go to the folder the image is saved in. I tried to enter the folder path and got the same error as before. Again, thanks this program is really usefull rather than having a million shortcuts.

The file situation should be fixed. by typing the folder the program is in in the middle textfield it can successfully read the information it needs. The complete path to the program must still be typed in the textfield on the right.

Double click on "Minecraft SmartLauncher" to run the program.
If you are unable to double click to open it:

Make sure you have java installed and that its the latest version.
Download Java here or use the system update feature on a mac.

I mentioned your application on this site:

http://getsatisfacti...inimize_to_tray

Ethan59,  Do you think you could rewrite this code to become a server status/launcher for minecraft server?  Maybe notch could even use your code since it is written in java.

If not, could you make your code public so others can work on it.  I decompiled it to see what it looks like and the code is way over my head and really well written.

I hope I am not resurrecting an old thread but I really want to see a feature like this become available as I currently run the mincraft server jar file invisibly using a VB script wrapping the batch file that runs the jar file.  This makes it great to keep out of my way but I don't know if the server is running without checking my task processes and looking for java.exe using 2 GB of ram :-P.

Thanks,
Bil
