A long long time ago, when Minecraftia only just began its existence. There were chickens. And these chickens layed eggs. But try as you might, nobody has ever been able to eat them and get to that creamy yellow yolky goodness.
Those agonizing days are forever gone!
Using our new advanced chicken modification techniques, we've been able to genetically modify all chickens to lay edible eggs!
These eggs can be fried, soft- and hard-boiled and even scrambled when cracked in a bowl. They can also be used to cook with. They work fine in cakes and pies and you can make egg sandwiches and even eggnog with some milk and sugar.
Eggs can be encrusted in gold and gems to make Fabergé eggs. And although they look nice decoratively, they can be thrown just like your regular eggs. Maybe a golden chicken will hatch!
You can peel or break eggshells from the various kinds of eggs by left clicking them on a block. The shells make good fertilizer and golden eggs can make you filthy rich!
Enjoy!

The resulting raw egg can be eaten. You also get the shell in the form of bonemeal.
The raw egg can be cooked in a furnace to become a fried egg.
Putting a whole egg in a furnace now gives you an unpeeled soft boiled egg.
Putting an unpeeled soft boiled egg in a furnace gives you an unpeeled hard boiled egg.
Unpeeled eggs can be peeled by left clicking with them on a block to break the shell.
Combining a raw egg with a bowl gives you raw scrambled egg. Which you can eat directly or...
Raw scrambled egg in a furnace makes scrambled eggs.

Videos / Spotlights
A very nice indepth spotlight done on the 1.3 version of Eggy Goodness by gcsmith.
And this one is done by a living cake. How odd... Thanks CakeIsCrafted.
Both these spotlights down below are for the old 1.0 version of the mod, where you could only bake eggs.
To my big surprise, people have actually made video spotlights of my mod. The first one I'd like to mention is this one done by PiranhaGaming.
And this one is in Spanish, featuring an installation guide as well! Done by the awesome Crix.
Thanks guys and cudos for being able to fill a spotlight with my mod! I was happily surprised.
Prerequisites / Installation
To use this mod you will have to have Minecraft 1.6.4, 1.7.2 or 1.7.10 installed with the right version of Forge for this mod to work. Download the Forge installer for your version of Minecraft here.
Once you've ran the installer and ran Minecraft at least once. (Just run it and quit, you don't even need to make a world), copy the eggygoodness modfile you've downloaded here and drop it in your Minecraft's mods folder.

Troubleshooting / Conflicts
When running EggyGoodness 1.0 on Minecraft 1.6.4:
When your Minecraft crashes on startup or you get error messages about conflicting ID's, please open the EggyGoodness.cfg file in the config folder of your Minecraft installation and change the number inside it to a free number. Just make a number up if you don't know which ones are free and see if it works now. If not, rinse and repeat. You can pick any number from 4097 to 32000.
Edible egg? Why is there eggs in the vanilla cake recipe then
Because there isn't a mod that allows you to break an egg in the eggy-part and bonemeal yet. It's why I don't eat vanilla cake's. Much too crunchy with the shells.

Into the personal modpack it goes. I don't know why this isn't implemented into openblocks/extra utilities or something along those lines. I've wanted this for awhile.
Great for your first mod, Add an egg mob, once you get the hang of making mobs :3
I set up a new private pack again and am actively and addictively playing at the moment. But when I do get a feel for programming again, I'll definately look into making mobs and a bit more advanced stuff than a smelting recipe for eggs. I got some ideas for something a bit more interesting. Will see.

I've seen a few mods around here and there that include a baked egg, but quality wise my eggs are just better. I sure can taste the difference. *nom*
Awesome! You should add a little more content and make a fully-fledged mod!
Oh I know it's just a silly little mod that adds only a smelting recipe. It was just a test to see how modding works for me and because I felt baked eggs are lacking, that's all it does right now. I'm sure I'll make a more full-fledged mod sometime, but I doubt it'll have to do much with eggs.
This is a tiny thing, but something that frankly should be part of unmodded Minecraft. Glad you created it.
Now if only we could make sandwiches with bread and 'stuff', to stretch our food reserves, two loaves and a cooked beef/pork/chicken yielding five (or six) sandwiches that fill two hunger.

I know my mods eggs are awesome but are you really going to stomach stacks of them.
Wow...

Nothing changed so far. Still the same awesomely tasty eggs.
New egg cracking/peeling mechanic and more kinds of yummy eggies to make and eat.
See the changelog.
