So, what's this, then? Quite simply, it adds square watermelons, as described in this thread, to Minecraft. You can place them, plant them, grow them, eat them...

Until finally...

Watermelons! Nom! These vines also sprout up randomly during world generation, on the ground near bodies of water.

Once you've discovered one of these scrumptious, succulent fruits, you can "break" one to pick it. Chopping down the vines has a chance of yielding some seeds, which can be planted to spawn MOAR MELONPLANTS.

As for the melons themselves, they can be placed and eaten, like so: (up to five uses, each healing 1.5 hearts)

Or, if you prefer, you can cut each melon into four slices, which are stackable up to sixteen and can be eaten from your inventory like any other food, healing 1.5 hearts. The reverse can also be done.

Side note: if you eat a watermelon block once it's been placed, the drops change for each use. (Full watermelon = drops itself, one bite = three slices, two bites = two slices, three bites = one slice, anything else doesn't drop.) Also, you can slice watermelons into 4 slices by breaking it with an axe.

And that's about it, I believe. Random watermelon house!

Oh, yes, watermelons can only be placed/stay placed when there's an adjacent block on any side. In other words, no unconnected floaters.

Instructions:
CLIENT ONLY:
1. Install ModLoader
2. Install ModLoaderMP
3. Save Watermelons_Mod_1.8.jar to your /.minecraft/mods folder.
4. Delete META-INF from minecraft.jar (Mac users delete everything starting with MOJANG inside META-INF, leaving everything else intact.)


SMP AND CLIENT:
CLIENT JAR:
1. Install ModLoader and ModLoaderMP for clients.
2. Save Watermelons_Mod_1.8.jar to your /.minecraft/mods folder.
3. Delete META-INF from minecraft.jar (Mac users delete everything starting with MOJANG inside META-INF, leaving everything else intact.)

SERVER JAR:
1. Install ModLoaderMP for servers.
2. Extract everything from the SMP Version ZIP file into minecraft_server.jar.

    Overview:

    You may be asking yourself, what in the world does this thing do? I sure hope so, anyway, because I didn't go to all this trouble to tell you what you already know. So, what've we got here, then? Quite simply, this is Heaven. Hence, y'know, the title of the mod. It's basically the anti-Nether, without the lava, or the screaming monsters of death and destruction. And there's flying magical unicorns instead of fire. (Okay, so maybe not... yet.)

    "Wow," you say. "This place sounds absoluto-fantasmastically amazing! How do I get there?"

    Glad you asked. Well, not really, because it means I have to type more stuff. All you need is ten to fourteen blocks of Lightstone - or, ugh, Glowstone, if you're a purist - plus four piles of Lightstone Dust and one of Redstone Dust. Set 'em up like so, and KABLAMO! You've got yourself a portal and a lighter! Because, well, you need that stuff.

    Woah, man. Woooooooooaaaaahhhhhhh. Far out. If you haven't guessed already, one: that's Heaven. Two: you need serious help. It's composed entirely of floating, mystical islands way, way up in the sky. So far up, in fact, that you can't even see the ground below. Because that makes sense! The blocks that make it up are really Heaven-esque versions of various other blocks, all of which can be found here:

I would load this right now, BUT I am out of terrain sprites! Nice mod.
My only limitation is my lack of imagination. I can't code but I can build Adventure Maps. :)

2 questions, is this Modloader compadible, and what Block/Item IDs does it use?

Yes, it uses modloader.

Also, it uses Block IDs 99 and 127, and Item IDs 500 and 501.

If anything, I'd prefer sideways vines they gen by ponds, but hey, it's your mod, make it the way you choose it! (if you right click it with an axe, can you make it so it auto-splits into the 4 chunks? It would just make me feel happy knowing I can grow melons, and smash 'em with an axe :3)

1) Grab axe.
2) Point crosshairs at watermelon.
3) Hold down your left mouse button, or your right if you use a left-handed mouse with the left-handed setup.
4) ???
5) Profit.

That's actually a pretty good idea, to cut a watermelon into slices with an axe. I'll probably implement it soon.

wow nice job man i love it but i would be even better with mod loader support.

I also would like to ask if you can mack this mod which i have come up with

Right i have been thinking this up for a long time so i hope that some one wants to make as i have tried to lean java but i am just rubbish at it

so my idea is that you can cut your grass with a lawnmower winch is crafted like this

with this you cut your grass the cut grass wont let any animals spawn on it and the grass will grow again after 4 day and night cycles and when you cut the grass you get grass cuttings which can be put in to a compost heap which has a GUI and tell you when it is done sort of like a furnace but it tack up to a day cycles to make this cold be used like bone meal and Evan used with the mo foodz farming to grow thing faster and with more on it

I was also thinking you cold make a watering can for when there is no water near plowed land so that you can grow crops with out having to have a water source. this could be crafted like this

Did you ask Xie if you could use his images? They seem to be exactly the same as from his farming mod.

i didn't know that Xie was the one that originally came up with square watermelons.
and their textures were already created in that suggestion, so he just used those i guess.

I got most textures from the suggestion thread, not Xie. (Some were made by TV also) If they are the same as Xie's, then he also used the textures from the thread.
