I believe since Beta 1.3, Lava Buckets, when used as fuel, don't take your bucket. Minecraftwiki.net has yet to update that, it still says that using a Lava Bucket as fuel will destroy the bucket.

I don't have a Minecraftwiki account, nor do I desire to create one, or whatever is required to edit a page, just for that. I'm hoping someone who can change it, will possibly read this and change it.

But yeah... Good to know you can use lava as fuel without burning through buckets!

Yea buckets do survive being used in the furnace now just like they do when used in cake.

Anyone who says otherwise is very very wrong as i literally did it 3 minutes ago in vanilla minecraft lol

Tried it, and my bucket got eaten. But I'm using an older Minecraft Launcher, would it have anything to do with that?

I don't think I can handle having such an inconclusive thread, I might have to try this myself if it keeps going.

i tried it 4 days ago, i was annoyed at the bucket being eaten

so, as far as i know, it eats buckets, im using no mods, not even grpahic mods. latest version vanilla build, and my buckets get eaten. needs to vbe fixed, as the cost of a bucket is not worth it,.

Thats 2 who say they tried it and it DIDN'T eat their bucket, and 4 who said it did . . .

I will go try it myself, but I think we need more confirmation here.

EDIT: Just tried this, it immediately ate my bucket.

To those who have had it NOT eat their bucket, are you sure you aren't using any mods?

I remember my bucket being eaten awhile ago, but I expected it would come back after the little fire went all the way down, so people couldn't just take their bucket out halfway through and have practically infinite smelting power.

It'd be nice if it would take the lava out of the bucket, instead of making the bucket disappear as well.

Wait, are you saying that you should be able to take pure liquid lava out of a bucket into your bare hands?  Problem, logic?

Logic? What's logic, I thought we were talking about minecraft.

I did try it, and it didn't work, but there are two people who claim that it did work, and a number who claim they "thought" it worked.

Is it logical to carry around a gallon of lava in a metal bucket?
