So, I guess this is the end of WITA as we know it. At least if you want to update to 1.8
It has been a great, great time. Many people have enjoyed the spectacular scenery of WITA and the horrors lurking beneath the cliffs of spawn area. The server Brainspackle started with this seed (see first page, third post) has been a blast and will be so even in the future, when we find an equally epic server to play on.
Using this seed from 1.8 and onwards will create a totally different world and will need a thread of its own. I imagine though, there will be lots and lots of better seeds than this one in 1.8.
ALL INFORMATION IN THIS THREAD APPLIES ONLY FOR MINECRAFT VERSION 1.3 - 1.7
MadMaxHH´s WORLD IN THE AIR Seed (do not forget the hyphen):
-1784338777788894343
This seed was found by MadMaxHH in 26:th of February 2011. Fast it became very popular with a long thread on the forum: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1031&t=197658
This is a new thread with a more organized beginning so that newcomers do not need to read an entire thread to get the most important information. Feel free to contribute, discuss and ask.
-1784338777788894343 is not an absolute spawn seed which means everybody does not spawn at the exact same coordinates. However, most of the people spawn in the same area that is between x: 3 to 70 and z: -80 to 60. If you spawn very far away from this, try again and you will probably spawn somewhere close to z: 0 and x: 0.
You press F3 on your keyboard to get the coordinates. X increases from North to South. Y increases from bottom to top, 0 being the bottom of bedrock, 64 the sea level and 128 the build limit. Z increases from East to West.

There once was a seed for a game,
With a long and numerical name.
With caves to the sky and a lonely pumpkin guy,
Jeebus christ I love this game!
So I kick to my feet and explore.
A landscape most epic of yore.
A quick walk around, then the sun, it goes down.
And I'm shot full of arrows once more.

Wow. Definatly the map with one of the most epic scenery but I suggest you add 2 warnings:
Warnings:
1. This map has a lot of hostile mobs spawing in the shadows. You'll have to spend a lot of coal to light these areas up if you don't want them spawning. (But why would you? The terror of Creepers creepin' always keeps the blood running.)
2. If you're not careful, you'll walk off the side of a cliff. Because of the large shadowy areas, there's a good chance that something green will be there to greet you when you hit the ground. :tongue.gif:
Here is a small collection of pictures from the original thread. Go there or read this thread to see many, many more. Some of the pictures lack coordinates.

[*:23n0xt5a]Click to place a marker on a point, and the info box on the right, and the tooltip for the marker will show the Minecraft coordinates of that point; great for finding the coordinates of a specific spot!
[*:23n0xt5a]Markers in various groups are toggle-able by the checkboxes on the right. Check the box to show that marker set, including all the Clay and Pumpkin listings given in the COORDINATES post above.

Hey Guys, I'm new in the forum...
I found an awesome Seed: -1784338777788894343
(Haven't found this Seed via the search function of the forum)
It's like a huge montain chain, but under it there is nothing!!!
Coordinates: around X=70; y= 92 (its actually a whole area). In my case, it was directly in front of my spawn point...
I would like to upload screenshots, but i get the message "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached."
In my opinion most awesome place ever seen, much better than "Glacier"
P.S.: I'm sorry for bad English - I am not a native speaker...
You made a mistake with Hawkeye's picture though; that's not the general spawn area, but 592x, -453z. I also recommend adding this or this screenshot (taken by CrazyCat); it's a really nice area with a surface lava pool, clay, and a dungeon. It's also the area that doesn't show up in my map.
IIRC the clay is at approx -204x, 8z. The coords for the dungeon are on page 8 of the original thread somewhere, and I'd need to check the coords of the lava pool.
Thanx!
Hawkeye pic fixed. As for your coords, I havent understood if your map look exactly like ours. If I post coords of your dungeon and its not there... maybe someone else can help verifying it?
As for the pictures, there is not room for more in that post, I get an error message... :-(
Please do post them, but dont forget to mention whos pic it is.
This is the only map where the bed won't help you.
-snip-
In the dark shadows of mountains high,
the creatures awaits to see you die.
You can´t go to sleep for it is not night,
stay in the sun and watch them ignite.
In the dark shadows of cliffs to the sky,
when night comes you ask yourself why?
Why did´nt I do a bed after all?
From the deepest shadows you can hear them call.
WOW! Thats great and nice markers too! That google thing with zoomfunction is awesome. Only thing I can see is wrong is the Scorched Plains, that is more to the north, where the fire is.
Is it possible to add coordinates in the mouseover text?
Just tell us when we can start throwing names at you... ;-)
I put this in the maps section and change the url if you get another place. And yes, the chest is yours.
Oh, the Google coordinates are going to give me a headache; the Google Maps API assumes that the map you're showing is a projection of a spherical map, hence the "latitude" coordinates aren't evenly spaced vertically across the map, so there's not a simple "scale and translate" formula for figuring out the exact Minecraft coordinates of a given point. So, I've got some markers that I put in by the coordinates people gave me, and some that I put in by eyeballing on the map. Once I figure out how to reconcile both with a high degree of accuracy, people can start throwing more names at me.
And, since this is a Google map, if we want to put regions (polygons) and lines on the map, in addition to markers, we can do that too.

I must say I found it rather amusing to go to that small pool of fire and watch the resultant forest fire. Aspesually with the Mo' Creatures mod, and the forest becoming a perfect spawn point for horses, lions and other beasts.

Several of the pumpkin and clay locations seem to be a bit off. For example, (-4,-156) and (-12, -210) seem to point right to a gray area on the map, so I think those are clay deposits, however (44,-30) and (96,-202) don't (though the second one seems close to a gray patch at (103,-218); is that really the location they meant?). Also, (103,538) and (108,531) seem to point to the same pumpkin patch; was one of them meaning to point to (74,479)?

I put it there, since that marker is roughly in the middle of the area that gets wiped out by fire. Did you look at it when I was messing with the coordinate system and saw it in a random spot?

If people like that format, I may find a permanent home for it, and add some marker groups for the pumpkin patches, clay pits, and surface lava.
