Omg wayuki please be my master, i mean all the tutorials out there are not good, i'm asking you to "teach" me XD

OFC i do not want to make textures like your texture but if at least u could tell me techniques, things to use/do, etc i'll be gratefull

Unfortunately, there is no fast answer to this.

Learning how to texture really mainly comes down to practice. I've been making character skins for games since 2000, so I have had a lot of practice by now.

However, here are some things that can help you on your journey:

- Practice, practice, practice!
- Always aim to make your next texture a bit better than your last texture.
- Always find reference material. You can't draw something if you don't know what it looks like!
- If you feel like your textures are stuck at the same skill level, try spending more time on them.
- Carefully study the work of artists you like.
- Read up on as much art theory as you can get your hands on!
- Study lighting theory, because shading is really just lighting. I especially recommend the books by Andrew Loomis. They are out of print, but you can still find them online.
- Study color theory. I especially learned a lot about color from visiting the pixel art community. A good forum for this is: http://www.wayofthepixel.net/
The feedback I got on this forum has been invaluable and has improved my use of color not just in pixel art, but all art.
-And lastly, practice, practice, practice!

Not fully, unfortunately. I still have to do a lot of mob skins, and it usually takes me a full weekend to finish one mob skin. It will have all the farm animals, though! And depending on when 1.2 is released, perhaps the villagers will be done by then as well. :)

Your texture pack doesn't get enough attention. So excited about your next release.

Any thoughts on doing mod skins, such as randomobs, once you've finished everything for your pack ?

Randomobs is definitely very interesting to me. But, there's still plenty of stuff to finish before I will get to that! ;)

I'm guessing from your comment you don't like the golem at all?

The default texture might be a bit sucky (ok, a lot sucky), but that's an easy enough fix.
The model itself has cool proportions, IMHO. I like the lumbering gait, as well.

Wait, what's this about an iron golem? I saw something about it on another thread too...

EDIT: Nevermind, I answered my own question by looking at the front page. :P

Can't wait to see what you do with them!

Just seems like you're working slowly on default stuff and then tons of new stuff comes out, causing sidetracks.

As a sidenote, anyone else stopped playing Minecraft but still checks on a certain texture pack?

I'd work faster if I could, but I'm already spending the better part of every weekend on the pack!

I'll catch up some day! Haha. :P

HI !
1st , my english is very bad , i can talk only with basic words :P try to understand me

Im working on my personnal version of Dokucraft in earlier versions of the game ...

Now in 1.1 in playing another time with other range of mods and i bored of the run out of memory errors so this time i don't use MCPatcher (i get some strange bug installing this and forge :S) and chosing the texture pack for using i finally chose yours ....

Defenitively is the best of the best !!! Congrats for such a colorful and nice pack . Before this i try eldpack , but yours is truly the best.

One mania i have with this game is i need to continous changing the texture pack (i play with a lot of mods ... and is strange for me that one mod don't look exactly with the texture pack i use ) So i start working in your adaptation of Wayukian Pack for use of mods ...

When you finish your pack , if you choose to use the mine i created im glad , if you make a better one don't problem :D

I don't put the links in adfly or something like this , only in Mediafire and giving the links to you if you like to put in the main post ...

I can not promise that will work full time on this, but I'll try to do it as quickly as possible (without losing quality).
This is the list of mods i have installed :

- MoCreatures
- Buildcraft
- Forestry
- RedPower 2
- Equivalent Exchange 2
- Additional Pipes
- Pam! More Flowers
- RailCraft
- RopePlus+
- IndustrialCraft 2
- IC: Rocketry
- More Paintings Extreme Edition

When i make some work , i post some pictures and links for if you like to give me some feedback or orientations ...

Well, let's see where this goes :iapprove:

Edit : The first mod i do is the "Rope Plus+ Mod" ... Here somo example :
Posted Image
In the grappling hook i use a modified version of one found in the painterly pack , i sending a message now , but i don't using for any profit so i don't get any tipe of bad response or some :P

The next mod and work is put this for download and MoCreatures maybe Pam! More Flowers.

Cya ;)

I think this is my favorite pack. Its sort of like paintery meets doku meets jolicraft with a dose of originality and beauty. Good work, much better than many other packs I've seen.
