So my cousin and I have been listening to The Protomen a lot over the last few days, and he's become kind of obsessed with Dr. Wily. He also doesn't really have a unique skin for minecraft. I've just ecently decided to try out skinning, and I've made a few simple ones that are decent, but I've decided to try somehintg a little harder, in this case, Dr. Wily from the Mega Man series.
This is what I have so far.
Now, as you can see, it could use some improvement, but I am totally stuck on what else to add/remove from it. Any of the more advanced skinners here want to try to tweak it, and maybe give me some advice? Thanks.
I would suggest:
- Add shading
- Make the eyes smaller (try removing the top row)
- Change the nose (the brown dot thing you have now makes him look like a teddy-bear or something)
- Maybe move the mustache to the "helmet layer", where you currently have the hair tufts? It may be hard to get it to look right, but it'd add some great depth to it.
- And again add shading. I personally consider shading to be the key element to a skin.
I think Taehl pretty much nailed it. The only other thing I'd suggest is to maybe try to stretch the labcoat onto the sides of the legs. Right now it looks more like its just a dress shirt.
Okay, first I'd like to thank yo uguys again for the feedback. So after a couple more hours work, I have this.
It looks a lot better, to say the least. I'm really happy with it right now. However, I'd still like some outside opinion. Any tips or glaring errors I should know about?

Very nice job, especially with the hair.
