Okay so i had set up a private server so i can play with some real life friends.
We both have Hamachi
We are both connected to Hamachi
I am able to long onto the server, but he cant it says the server connection has timed out.
we tried the IP 0.000.000.000 and 0.000.000.000:25565 but neither work.

You dont need Hamachi, and if you do, I dont know how to use it...to set up a server without Hamachi just download the server software, set isPublic to False in the server.properties file and start the server on your computer, you two can play together and no one else can join your server unless they know the link

You need to connect using

http://www.minecraft .net/play.jsp?ip=127.0.0.1&port=25565

He needs to connect using

http://www.minecraft .net/play.jsp?ip=YOURIP&port=25565

Also, you need to have 25565 TCP and UDP ports forwarded on your router

0.000.000.000 is not a valid IP address
Give an internet if I helped you. :D

Lol then why reply to my post if you don't know how to use hamachi? i use hamachi so i don't have to deal with TCP and UDP port forwarding.

*Edit 0.000.000.000 was an example IP address.

I've used Hamachi successfully for Minecraft with others. Basically all I did was have the host set up a server with the server software (which I'm presuming you have) the host logs on via multiplayer - IP is the IP of the host. Same with the other person, just use the IP of the host and it should work.

If it doesn't I recommend looking in your firewall settings etc and make sure that both Hamachi and Minecraft are allowed. Minecraft uses the ports already stated above, so you DO kinda needa mess with that a bit xD otherwise your firewall will just block it.

Anyways, hope it works ^^

For Hamachi you use the IP of the Hamachi network program.
