Running Minecraft at 4 FPS?

I just want to be able to play MineCraft without the client being so laggy that I can't enjoy it at all. I have the latest version of Java, and I have done many things to optimize my experience; however, none of those help "fixes" work, including adjusting task priority and Game Booster Premium v2.3.

Here are my computer specs to know if I should even be trying to play MineCraft...:

Manufacturer: Dell

Processor: Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU    T5550  @ 1.83 GHz   1.83 GHz
Memory (RAM): 2.00 GB
OS: 32-bit Windows Vista Home Premium SP 2
Total Physical Memory: 1.99 GB
Total Virtual Memory: 4.92 GB
Page File Space: 2.98 GB

Cannot find [specs for] video card...

That probably means you're using an integrated one, which means that 4FPS is about right.
You can try updating your drivers from Intel's site, but Intel graphics cards are not good and definitely not meant for gaming.
