Weapons
Melee weapons

Spoiler:

Spear
A spear to hunt a cow! It does less damage than a sword and has a small knockback.
You can also hit mobs from a bit further.
You can also throw them! The spear will not dissapear after hitting a mob, and deals the same damage as when you stab with it.
You can make one with wood, stone, iron, diamond and gold.

This is the crafting recipe:


Halberd
A halberd to smash a creeper in the face! It does as much damage as a sword and has a big knockback.
You can also hit mobs from a bit further.
Right click to switch from slashing to stabbing mode! Does more damage, but has a smaller knockback.
You can make one with wood, stone, iron, diamond and gold.

This is the crafting recipe:


Knife
A knife to stab a spider! It does less damage than a sword and has half the durability, but is crafted with very few recources and can be crafted without a workbench. The knockback is small. You can break cobwebs easily with it.
Like the spear, you also throw them!
You can make one with wood, stone, iron, diamond and gold.

Battle axe
A battle axe to shave a sheep with style! Does as much damage as a sword, but a small amount ignores armour. Has a larger knockback and does more damage to wooden blocks.
You can make one with wood, stone, iron, diamond and gold.

Warhammer
A warhammer to squeeze a slime! Does as much damage and has the same knockback as the halberd, but does huge damage to blocks, depending on the weapon material.
Hold right mouse button to charge a supergroundsmash, or whatever you want to call it!
If you hold it long enough and then release, you smash the ground so hard all the mobs around you will get hurt.
You can make one with wood, stone, iron, diamond and gold.

Golden weapons all do a little more knockback.

Flail
A flail to swing at pigmen!
Right click to throw it. The ball will follow you where you go, right clicking it again will swing it. Every swing decreases the item's durability, so swing carefully.

Throwable weapons

Spoiler:

The spear and the knife are throwable, but this can be disabled.

Javelin
A javelin to throw at chickens! You can throw it by holding right mouse button while holding it. It does the more damage than arrows, but goes less far and has a large deviation. You don't need feathers to craft them, or a bow to shoot them.
If you fall downwards and throw the javelin downwards, it will have a critical hit. Same as when aiming upwards.

Don't mistake them for iron or stone spears.

Throwable dynamite
Not just ordinary TNT! Right click to throw it!
WARNING: from v9.0 the TNT will be thrown immediately when you click the right mouse button!
The explosion power is half the power of TNT.
In the properties file you can disable block damage.

Boomerang
A boomerang to throw a dragon out of the air!
Hold right mouse button to start aiming. The longer you hold it, the more power it has and the further the boomerang flies.
You can make one with wood, stone, iron, diamond and gold.

Shooting weapons

Spoiler:

Musket
A musket to shoot back at skeletons! The use is the same as a bow and arrow. The musket uses musket rounds to shoot and these do very much damage. You can also attach a bayonet to it, so you can stab opponents too. You can only shoot a limited amount of musket rounds, then the musket will break.
After you shot the round you need about 2 seconds of reload time.
Holding right mouse button reloads it, and when reloaded, holding right mouse button increases aim.

The one for adding a bayonet, you have to use a knife. The knife can now be made of every material.

Crossbow
A crossbow to shoot a pig from distance! Shoots further than a bow, and with a small deviation, but it has a reload time. Shoots crossbow bolts. Holding right mouse button reloads it, and when reloaded, holding right mouse button increases aim.

Blowgun
A blowgun to poison a sheep!
Shoots fast and accurate. Has a small reload time. It shoots blowgun darts, which are poisonous. This means that when you hit a mob, he becomes ill. If a mob is ill, he will get damage over time, and has a small chance to heal from the illness.
The poison will not kill the mob, but often the mob remains with half a heart left.
The dart itself doesn't do much damage. Holding right mouse button reloads it, and when reloaded, holding right mouse button increases power.

A blunderbuss
A blunderbuss to deal with an squad of zombies!
Reloads like the musket, but quicker. Uses blunderbuss shots as ammunition.
When fired, it shoots 10 small projectiles with a wide spread.
Shooting a mob from nearby deals much more damage.

Fire rod
A fire rod to cook a pig alive!
Hitting a mob will set him on fire for a short time. The fire rod has one use and can not stack.

A cannon
A cannon to take revenge on ghasts!
You can place it wherever you want, and mount it. When mounted, you can turn the cannon all around and look everywhere. To load the cannon, make sure you have gunpowder in your inventory, and right click on the cannon with a cannonball. Wait a few seconds, and then hit shift (or the sneak button in the Minecraft options) to fire!!
In the properties file you can disable block damage.

Miscellaneous

Spoiler:

A training dummy
This isn't really a weapon, but I made this just for fun. As a gift to all the fans of the WeaponMod!
Place the dummy with right clicking. Pick it up the same way, if you are not holding a weapon from this mod, sword or bow.
You can hit the dummy infinitely, it will never break from projectile or melee damage. It does when it is set on fire, explodes or when it falls from too high.

Installation

Universal installation
• Backup your minecraft.jar.
  
• Requires Minecraft Forge, so install that first.
  
• Move the downloaded WeaponMod.zip to the %appdata%/.minecraft/mods/ folder.
  
• Start the game once to initialize the weaponmod.properties file in the .minecraft/config/ folder.
  
• Enjoy!

Bukkit installation
• First, you have to download an MCPC Bukkit from http://build.technic...job/MCPC-1.4.6/
  
• Put the downloaded file into your server folder.
  
• Start the Bukkit server and shut it down again.
  
• Now there's a mods folder in the server folder.
  
• Put the WeaponMod.zip into the mods folder.
  
• Make sure the weaponmod.properties files of the clients match with the server.
  
• Enjoy!

Modpacks

Spoiler:

If you want to make a modpack that includes Balkon's WeaponMod, decide whether you want to distribute the pack publicly or want to keep it private and only accessible by your friends or the players on your server.

• All private modpacks are free to use Balkon's WeaponMod without written permission, as long as they do not publish the pack or violate the terms and conditions as written in the readme file in the main download.
  
• Public modpacks do not have permission to use the mod. Modpacks that already existed and received written permission can still use the mod.

Troubleshooting

Spoiler:

- My Minecraft crashes on startup!
Make sure you deleted the META-INF folder inside the minecraft.jar. Check if Minecraft Forge is installed. Obtain the error message and post it.

- Items are acting strange on a server or causing errors.
The item IDs that the server is using do not match the ones for the client. The server must set them to an unused ID by editing the properties file. Then the clients need to use the same properties file. If you're having trouble setting up the properties file, I recommend you to use the properties file that automatically comes with the download.

Looks awesome! I love that the musket can have a blade on it. Very nice.

But could you possibly make it so that the spear can hit enemies from a bit farther away than a sword? Just a suggestion.

Yeah, you're right that muskets have round bullets, will work that out! And I will think about the reload thing.

its a very interesting idea. why not make the recipe for the rounds...

where sheep = paper
= musket round

Rounds used to be a paper shell filled with gunpowder and a musket ball on top of the powder
and if you want to make it complected add a ramrod.

Yesterday I came up with an idea (before looking at Ye Olde Minegunner.) To reload the musket by putting a musket and a bullet together in the crafting field. What do you guys think about that? It will take longer before you can shoot again, depending on your mouse skills.

These are GREAT! I can't wait to start a new "NO INVEDIT" game with these to help me out in the beginning.

My FAVORITE is the Musket- which is more like the M1 rifle! I have Minegunner and thats great for short range- dispatching curious sheep etc. PLEASE don't change the Musket- except maybe the name since it's not Musket-y. If you get grief about it's lack of historical accuracy as a musket, just give it a makeover:

It was the intention to make a musket, so I'm not going to change the name, I'm going to change the use of the current musket, so it will become more "musket-y".
