Mob Lanterns is a fun little mod that adds a variety of new craft-able mob head pumpkin lanterns and mob spawners to your Minecraft world. The lanterns and spawners include mobs from the Overworld as well as the Nether and the End.
when I saw this I was thinking "oh great, another person who just started modding made the mobs glow in the dark..." so I thought I'd check it out and saw that its actualy Jack 'o Lanterns changed to look like mob heads and then thought "well, that isn't what I expected, this is pretty cool!". With that said, this mod looks awesome and I look forward to future developments! Maybe peaceful mobs? What about Dyed lanterns? or if you apply redstone to them they make their mobs sound (troll option/feature). and what about making it so you take the lanterns and put them ontop of 2 snow blocks and make better versions of the snow golem?
Creeper: explodes
Ghast: shoots fire balls and doesn't melt in desert
Blaze: same as Ghast
Zpigs: attack in groups
Magamacubes: set a mob on fire after they run into it
Whithers: throw snow balls that give wither effect
Slimes: throw slimeballs instead of snowballs, 1/4 chance of poison for 5 sec
Skelly: throws arrows (ever 2 sec)
Spider: throws strings that turn into cobwebs when they hit the ground
Zombie: chance of summoning other Zombie golems, does 1 heart damage (melee)
and for peaceful mobs:
Sheep: can be sheared for snow balls or blocks
Cow: milked for icecream
Chicken: useless and makes chicken sounds and lays eggs
Wolf/Dog: same as normal wolf/dog but takes damage in desert, is created wild and tamed with snowballs
Bat: useless and wanders around, ocasionaly dropping a snow ball
Mooshroom: milked for mushroom flavored Icecream and can be sheared once for a frozen mushroom then turns into Cow golem
Squid: again, useless, can be milked with a bottle to get ink (same as ink sacks, just less risk of drowning)
Testificate: basicly the same as a Testificate, but when killed has a 1/100 chance of dropping 0-3 emeralds (made with an emerald block and jack 'o lantern) can't be turned into a Zombie golem

^^ that would be pretty awesome, too lol... though idk if you would be able to do something like that yet, given this is your first mod
You also could do:
Wither lantern (Nether Star) that gives the wither effect when you get near.
Cave spider lantern (Made with string).
Ender dragon lantern.
Thank you all for commenting and supporting my idea. I really didn't expect such a reaction from the community. I especially am thankful to you guys who took the time out and made mod spotlights. I appreciate the work! I really never thought of developing this mod more than that it currently is; but there are two ideas mentioned that I really like. The idea when redstone is applied it makes the mob sound, and the idea about the golems. This week is a little crazy as I have a huge math entrance exam to study for( I'm returning to college and taking up nursing). But I wont start classes till Spring of '14 so after this week I will work on these concepts.
Two things to note: The name of the items when hovered over do that whole 'tile.spawner' kind of thing and the other is that the spawner block used to craft the spawners is not craftable...

I have not been able to get the craft able spawners to work. Are they bugged?
Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I'm sorry that the mod is buggy but I will have to take it down for a while. I am really on the fence to continue this mod as I have a lot of catching up to do learning the changed from 1.6 to 1.7 and later. My life has gotten more hectic with going back to college and kids getting older and I haven't had the time I do before. I am thankful for all of you who enjoyed the mod while it has been around and my efforts to make something fun and entertaining. I hope I can catch up on my knowledge and make something even better next time. Till then I will take down the 1.7 versions. Thank you all for your support.
Why not make it Open Source? That way, someone else can continue the mod and you dont have to worry about it? This mod would really help my Singleplayer worlds and it'd be a shame to see it die.

It always was, and I will probably make all my projects so. I have a link to the repository in github in the OP.

Ah. I mean, I have no skills with updating mods, but I'm sure that I could find someone willing to update this mod and make it better than ever.
