Why do people use Hamachi?

From what I have read, Hamachi is some-kinda slow port forwarding service?. It's for the "lazy-newb" who sort's things out the easy way, which is more complicated than the original way. It's advantages and it's field is testing purposes only.
Then my question is, why do people use it?, if it's hard for both the player (who needs to download some software) and the hoster to do. And if it's slow and bad for hosting even small servers (very-small is okay), why do people use it???
If the server is getting over-loaded, Hamachi becomes annoying from what I've read.
Well anyways, I want someone to state the advantages and disadvantages about Hamachi. Could someone please do that?
I guess I'm sticking with a real DNS, but I'm just curious.

They can't port-forward.
They don't understand how to do it.

My PC Specs are in my channel info if you're curious.

It's slow because every VPN uses encryption to prevent unauthorized users from skimming any data sent along it. It's not that Hamachi is a bad program, but rather that some people who want to host their own server are too lazy to research how to port forward.
