Yeah, I saw that too! I thought it was just because it was a new world I was running. Riding horses seems to be less laggy too. I wonder if they've overhauled the chunk generation...
True! On 1.6.4 I had major lag with low graphics quality and default resource pack (I think it was around 10 fps). Now, I'm getting 35 fps with everything in the video settings turned to the max with 128x resource packs.
Dude!! Mojang hasn't "given" anyone anything. We paid for it. And considering how well Mojang has done because we bought in to Minecraft before it was even a "game" Mojang should be just as appreciative of us as we are of them.
So that means we have the right to be critical.
Yeah, I guess you are right. A lot of people have different opinions.
So excited. If anybody knows of a survival server that will be starting fresh or at least have this 1.7 update as the main world especially the Amplified... I am really wanting to play.
not sure how that all works but am hoping I can get invovled with something fresh.
Somebody doesn't appreciate all the HARD WORK AND SWEAT MOJANG HAS PUT INTO THIS UPDATE!!!!!!!!
How about instead of being a jerk to Mojang, you appreciate what Mojang has given you.
We don't have to appreciate what someone worked hard for. I wish they would stop adding features until they make the mod API. You also don't have to make a release for every single change you make to the game. Mojang needs to stop releasing an update every two weeks so mods can have a chance to catch up, then release the mod API when it is fully ready.

There isn't an update every few weeks, it's about every few months or so. Do you mean SNAPSHOTS?

Oh come on, you know that's simply not true. Apart from the minor bug-fix releases, we've had...
1.6.1 (Horse) July 1
1.5 (Redstone) March 13
1.4.2 (Pretty Scary) October 25 2012
1.3.1 August 1, 2012
Hardly 'every 2 weeks'.
Even if you count the minor updates, we've had;
1.6.4 September 19
1.6.2 July 8
So by 'every two weeks' I suppose you really mean 'every 3 months or so'.
They keep breaking mods, its getting seriously ridiculous. More and more modders are quitting, and mods are essentially whats keeping Minecraft alive at this point. Mojang doesn't do ANYTHING original with their work. As for the every two weeks thing, sorry, I am atrocious with time, and I was exaggerating on top of my bad time keeping.
I thought at first this would kinda be Mojang's Christmas gift to us. But I guess sooner is better for some. Command block minecarts? I have some trolling Ideas in mind along with Custom map mechanics. So does Sethbling. Definitely going to make test for clocks easier.

Honestly, for every update they release, they get more subs/accounts. More and more people are playing the game, which generally means, more bug posts, which generally means, more updates, fixes and additional features with the game. You're also making it sound like modders have to update their stuff immediately regardless of their situation/time constraints. Let's look at RedPower for example, that mod hasn't been updated since 1.4.6/1.4.7, people are still playing 1.4.6/1.4.7 because of that mod. The whole reason why Eloraam isn't updating immediately is because she has IRL things to take of first, plus, not to mention, the whole "greed" with mods and this game has basically turned her away from updating the mod as well (as what i got from her blog post a while ago). People need to stop feeling so damn entitled to things around here.
That's my $0.02 anyways.
Now back on topic, the 1.7 update looks awesome! So much new content added! Can't wait til the release! I especially like the "secret settings", haha.
P.S: I noticed someone a few pages back whining about stained glass, that was requested WAY back in beta, BEFORE any of those mods added it in. Seems like that person is confused who's work is "original". Makes me happy they finally added it.

Ok, still can only build up to 255. But odd I can fly higher. Oh well.
The /ban command will use the player's ID instead of their name. So you can ban them no matter how much they change their name.

AMIDST is compatible with several 1.7 snapshots. I used it this morning to look at a map I made with 1.7 pre. Looks good.

Looks amazing wow! I heard it will be out Friday.

any villages and strong holds will stop working unless you load their chunks in 1.6.4
It's acacia wood planks, they're orange in color.
