I saw a post a while back that explained how to get mods to work on 10.5.8 macs.
NOTE: Make a back up of any files that I mention in the instructions as a precaution.
Instructions:
First off make sure you have Java 6 downloaded. (If you haven't done a software update in a while you should)
Go to your minecraft app, right click and choose "Show Package Contents".
Next open the contents folder and open "Info.Plist".
Once it's open look for the line that says
<key>JVMVersion</key>
<string>1.5+</string>
Once you have found it change the 5 in 1.5 to a 6, then save and exit.
Once done with that open a new finder window and go to Mac > System > Library > Frameworks > JavaVM.framework > Resources > Mac OS and then copy the file named "JavaApplicationStub".
Now go back to the contents folder and go into the "MacOS" folder and paste "JavaApplicationStub".
Mods should now work with minecraft. (Reply if they don't, I may be able to help.)
Thanks whoever posted how to do this before, it helped me very much.
i did all this and it still freezes at the loading screen please help :sad.gif:

Reinstall minecraft and do it again you can do this by going to your minecraft folder, save your saves and then delete the minecraft folder and open the app and it will reinstall it for you. Then you can try this again
Thank you so much for posting this! Kinda sad in a way, you mentioned you have no programing experience and yet you helped me out than the people who actually made the Mods XD.
Hey, Can someone please explain steps 16-18. I have followed the instructions but what do you mean name the old jar original? What I see is a Minecraft folder, and minecraft.jar. Should there be two jar files? If I change the name of the jar file it stops loading. Just wondering if I am doing something wrong here.
I followed every step closely and even did what msmit71 suggested and it still doesn't work.
I get this error when trying to launch the game:

Thank you.
(1) Download TFC's Mod Manager: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=141904
(2) Download Mo' Creatures TFC: viewtopic.php?t=86929, AudioMod and ModLoader and GUI API (search through Google)
(3) Run TFC's Mod Manager, and when it asks you to unzip your game, select "Yes"
(4) Right click on the minecraft.jar located at /User/Library/Application Support/minecraft/bin and "Open With" Archiver
(5) Open the newly made "minecraft" folder and delete the META-INF.
(6) Right click on the "minecraft" folder and select "Compress." This will create "minecraft.zip"
(7) Deleter the older minecraft.jar, and rename the minecraft.zip to minecraft.jar.
(8) Go back to TFC's Mod Manager and click on the "+" Mods button, and search for the downloaded AudioMod and ModLoader .zip files. Add those BEFORE adding the Mo' Creatures TFC .zip.
(9) Click finish modding and wait till it finishes (duh!)
(10) Open up Minecraft
(11) Profit???

the mod manager doesn't even work, eg. I don't get a GUI or anything, it just crashes after a couple of seconds...I've reinstalled it more than once.
You do know macs are better and pcs are copied from the mac.
