i know flaming arrows have been mentioned in topics, but have there been any mentions of them being craftable...
now you might be thinking, oh no he hasnt used search... another noob
but no im not telling you about
[]  []  []
[>>-i>]  []  []
:(  []  []

that has been discused

but how about an easier way

select a stack of arrow(s) and right click on a source of fire  :--+:  :VV: then that whole stack will turn into flaming arrow(s)

now to talk a little bit about them

If you shoot a flaming arrow at something flamable it will catch on fire.  If it hits a mob that mob will catch on fire. it also deals double damage against mobs.  if it hits an animal it is an instant ko(or they can catch on fire also) If it hits something non-flamable it will go off and you can collect a non-flaming arrow. it ill be added to a non flaming arrow stack

yes they will have seperate stacks

If something exactly like this has been done please tell me. But i doubt it cause i used search.

Ps
check out my cooking pan suggestion please

A lot of things would be awesome. Incidentally, every time a rebuttal has come with "It would be awesome!", the person behind the idea:

A) Is a troll.
:iapprove: Is twelve.
C) Did not think it through, and thus has no greater argument.

As is, it does too much damage and creates too great a fire risk to justify itself.

i am non of the above
well maybe the third, lol

but i havent seen any idea of being able to carry the arrows flaming in a pack
plus lava doesnt exist every where,
if your shooting up, you prabaly cant shoot through a source of fire

ok their you have it now i am not the third either\
i was just being lazy

ok you can make it 50% more damage
also some flint and steal does tons of fire destruction...

ps
are you the yggdrasel in chaotic
or am i thinking of some one else

Flint and steel starts a flame right in front of you. It can be put out instantly if needed. A flaming arrow would light a fire at a distance. By the time you reach it, it spreads.

It does too much damage. The initial hit plus setting them aflame.

ok just make the inistal hit the same

but they need to catch on fire that would be the whole point of the flaming arrows
just like if it were day time

also about the destruction
i said that on purpose

it is for players to be more careful
if you play with fire, someone is bound to get hurt

Setting mobs aflame is much too powerful for the very simple recipe you've provided.

why didnt you just say that to begin with...
would have saved me a whole lot of typing
but now i dont have to do this tomarrow if someone would have asked me the same things

well i realy dont see how it is two powerful
its just like if i went to bed and waited for them to burn up in the morning

how about if the arrow had to have a coal tip
even though flint is harder to find

the set back would be that they couldnt travel as far
also the mobs should be able to have flamming arrows that would set you on fire

thats the best way to balence it

ps
you never answered my other ps

i always thought it should be

:)  []  = one fire arrow
[>>-i>]  []

it has a 25% chance of igniting what it hits.
also it shoots slower as it must be ignited

could be placed in a dispenser for massive damage

I know this is out of date, but for all future visitors to this page, IT IS POSSIBLE TO GET FLAMING ARROWS! all you have to do is get a bow with the enchantment "flame" it generally shoots FLAMING ARROWS.
P.S. i got to this page by searching whether or not flaming arrows can light things on fire, and it turns out you can't xD

This is what the wiki is for.
If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.

Ok, well none of you guys were nay help on the subject. None of you guys can just give a simple, straight forward answer. Is it really that hard? People are just curious with Minecraft. I am also wondering how to get Flaming Arrows in Minecraft, can somebody help me out?

Seems like it can be a little OP? Flaming arrows are powerful, and cause much more damage. Instantly having 64 would be a little too easy.

Not all of the recipes use it, and that's a small detail.

Would it truly inspire awe into us?

No support.

I have discovered a truly remarkable proof of this, which this margin is too small to contain.

This thread is TWO YEARS OLD And no longer relevant. It was made before the enchantment system existed. It is no longer needed as you can now get flaming arrows in Minecraft.
To get Flaming arrows, you need to enchant your bow with the "Flame" enchantment.

As mentioned above, this thread is old and the ability to obtain flame arrows is now possible via enchantment table.
