I get this error running a vanilla copy of Minecraft.exe in Windows 7

	  Bad video card drivers!
	  -----------------------

Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode.
This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

However, running the Minecraft.jar in Linux works fine.

I was wondering if anyone had a fix for this or at least knows what's going on.

Thanks.

update your video card driver.

there is two ways doing it.

Go to control panel-device Management-
Display Adapters/video card driver

click your video card driver and press update.

or go to the website of your video card driver and find a update download.

Should've mention my specs, as well

Advent 4212 Netbook
Integrated Graphics card (I've updated the drivers)

I looked about and I'm not sure there IS a fix for this problem with intergrated GPUs but it's just strange that it would work on Linux and not Windows.

Post your dxdiag.

Start > run > dxdiag > save all information > paste information here (up until sound devices)

Uninstall your current video driver, install this:
http://downloadcente... ... 1&lang=eng

I can't guarantee it will fix the issue.

Alright.
(I had real trouble finding the right drivers on Intel's site.)
I'll try that now.

Edit:
I love you.
That driver did the trick.
Thanks a lot for finding that for me.

Stop right there. Assuming its a intel chipset, big chance even if you get the game running you'll be laggy as a MOFO.

Ouch!

Realistically you'll be wanting more RAM before you starting worry about playing any games.
But the drivers are here: AMD Catalyst™ Legacy Display Driver
