Hello!, Minecrafters!,

I've always been obsessed by Jurassic Park, dinosaur games, dinosaur movies and other things relaited to dinosaurs.
And then after a couple of months after I got Minecraft, some genius guy (called hardcorebadger) released the mod: Jurassicraft!
When he put up the first doenload link I was simply awazed by it!
the giant trees, the red horizon and ofcourse the brachiosaurus!
And after like playing in the Jurassic for like 5 seconds I emmediatly thought...
I'm gonna make Jurassic Park with this!

PLEASE POST SO I KNOW IF PEOPLE CARE!!!

Well, enough introduction.
So, Let's get to it!

Well, The new name of the post says it all:
I've started building!!!
I already have the normal world completly finished. (since Jurassic Park is being builded in the Jurassic)
I'm currently having trouble with MCedit but I will release a Very Early Alpha soon... or at least i hope i will...
My current project is landing spot of the helicopter on Jurassic Park and the shape of the island.
Building all this seems harder than it is.
Why?
Well, because of the fact that Dinosaurs will still always be in the Jurassic, even when played on peacefull!
So, that's another issue.
But I'd love to hear a suggestion or just a comment from you guys.
My deadline is: next saturday (I apologize in advance)

I think you should make it more like the Jurassic world.  Also, maybe make some mobs resembling the dinosaurs from JP3.  Just to let you know, I am pretty obsessed with dinos myself.

Did you vote for the Jurassic world?
Because I'd like to remeber you to the fact that in the Jurassic the dinosaurs just spawn randomly.
But hey, It's your opinion, and I'll do whatever gets the most votes.

And I'm not a modder so you'll need to go to hardcorebadger if you want a spinosaurus mob or another dinosaur.

EDIT: I'm gonna start from aaaaalll the way the begining.
So, the ACTUAL first thing I'm gonna build is the Landing spot for the helicopter.

Great idea, can't wait for the final project.
I don't know enough about Jurassic Park to comment about the map, but I know enough about map creation to know one thing, be thorough. Don't cut corners, and don't overlook a detail because it's either pointless or you don't think anyone is going to pay attention to it. Whenever I see someone put so much effort into such a small detail I like their map so much more.

Since I'm kinda excited to start building I'm gonna start anyway
There is being voted that I should make Jurassic Park in the Jurassic, so that's what I'm gonna do.
I'm gonna start whenever I have some free time... (due to the ******* school)

I've started building!

that's right I've finally started building!
I had a couple of very busy weeks and I still have!
But still I was able to make a little bit of Minecraft time to started building.

I like the idea, but how are you gonna deal with keeping dinos in their enclosures? Since they always spawn?
Maybe you should leave holes in the fences to give the illusion of a broken down park.

Isla Sorna would probably have been easier to build.

Yeah, I know that issue was coming so I thought the following thing:
When the mod is modloader compatible I'm gonna download Risugami's mob spawner gui.
And then select which dinosaurs should be in which enclosure.
But about the fact that the dinosaurs spawn everywere I can't do anything.
So that's why I made that poll,
Because it would be more easy if people voted the most time on the normal world.
But still they voted for the Jurassic, so that's my dission.
They probably voted that because of the giant tree's.
And I agree, Isla Sorna would be easier to build. (maybe that'll be my next project )
But I like Isla Nublar more since that is the real Jurassic Park!

If you can get a hold of some topo maps of Kauai, Hawaii, USA, you can model it off that as that is where it was filmed, and just add in some of the buildings seen in the movie, and try to add mob spawners for different dinos in different pens Sounds awesome and can't wait!

Well, if jurassicraft eventually turns off auto dino-spawning on peaceful, you could roll with that.

Yeah, eventually...
But then they also won't spawn from mob spawners if set on peacefull.

Well,
I've come across ANOTHER issue...
I don't know how I need to make the fences like...
Do you know a good way?
Then please vote on one of the options of the poll above to help me decide.
Do you know a better way than those option?

I already made the landing spot and so, but straight after that comes the fences so I can't continue building until some ideas show up, so I REALLY need your help here...

I think you should do 2 things... I give you these btw      

1. Make a mod with dinasours

2. Change the fence texture so it'll look like jurassic park fencs then make satble them up to high fences

Here's how you could make the fences:
step 1- build them with regular blocks
2- put a fence at the top
3- break the block under the fence and place another fence there. Repeat as necessary.
In the end it looks something like this:

I just put a ''Required'' list in and there you can see that it requires Jurassicraft which IS a mod with dinosaurs!
Jurassicraft is the prority I started this map!
no Jurassicraft, no Jurassic Park map...

and there isn't an actual texture for fences it just takes the texture of wood,
so if I change the texture of wood the fence will look different too.
but if I make the texture of the wood so that the fence will look good, the wood won't look like wood anymore...

and there is a trick how to stack fences.
search it on Youtube.

I know that fence trick and I want to use it but if I do I need to change the texture of the wood to make the fence look like a Jurassic Park wire fence, because the fence uses the texture of wood.
but since I don't plan on using wood THAT much I guess I can change the texture of wood...
But then again I AM gonna use wood, so I just need to find s block which won't be used at all in the map to apply the wood texture on that to still have wood!

This may sound complicated but then again, It is,
Just wait until I have the custom texture pack finished...

Well,

I didn't made enough to release a early version of the map yet,
BUT!, I HAVE manged to make the JurassiCraft painterly Pack Texture Pack!
So You can enjoy it while I'll be busy building!

By the way, even the texture pack is not finfished yet, so....
AND I made the fence looking good now! like a wire fence! sort of...
remember, it's not finished yet...

For a 16-bit pack, it looks good, one of the best I've used, actually. Though the jurassic grass and the default dirt block contrast too much IMO.
