The DarkTide staff proudly present,
The DarkTide
The DarkTide Experience...
(this video is from pre 1.7 map wipe, but the experience is the same)
Our first concern, is to provide a more balanced, and better PVP experience, if you don't like PVP you won't like DarkTide, outside of the main city, anyone can kill you anywhere, cause they don't like your specific flavor of ice cream.
But that's the beauty of DarkTide you can do whatever you want. We don't stop you.
- Damages of weapons have been tweaked on Darktide to provide more balanced, and longer lasting combat (DarkCombat).
- One of the most lag free servers that is up 24/7
- Plug-ins, both Common and Customized for better play
- No whitelist (we have a grey list, where you can log in and check it out first)
- PvP enabled and encouraged, griefing allowed
- A complete player driven economy based on supply/demand
- Dungeons, PvP tournaments, and other fun events planned by the staff
- Form Settlements (towns, cities, etc.) and Clans
- Buy perks to assist in accomplishing your goals, including own your own protected land.
- No Hacking or Cheating. Either through logs or player provided proof to consider accusation.
- Minimal interference (staff interference), but measured and resolute discipline by professional staff
- Freedom to do as you wish to succeed (minus hacking and plugin perimeters)
- In all aspects, self-sufficiency
- Chat modding leans toward freedom of expression, except when it goes against functionality
- Sleep in a bed to set your home/spawn, even during the day.

PvP
PvP rules are short and straightforward:
Disabled: Inside the gates of DarkTide Citadel (Spawn settlement) and server purposed areas.
Enabled: Everywhere else.
If you can kill someone without using mods (mods that give you advantage over others), its a legit kill.
If you have to use a mod(mods that give you advantage over others) to kill someone, it's not legit.
Economy
Coins are the currency of our world. You can get coins by several different means, such as:
- Trading and selling with others. (You may trade and sell with other players in the trade channel or with yardsale signs.)
- Selling to the DarkTide Shops
- Raiding (Raiding chests, players, and trades.)
- Unofficial coin transaction activities (begging, loaning, work compensation, etc.)
- Voting for DarkTide on Minestatus http://minestatus.ne...9-darktide/vote (once per day for 100c)
The economy system will be based solely on the player bases' selling and buying activities. The official market shops will auto set prices and costs from player's shopping activities from within that town. Player yardsales outside town will act independently. Much like the real world. Yardsales (independent player markets) are a perk. While you will be able to buy and sell Portals (Donation Currency) from independent player markets, you will not be able to buy Portals from DarkTide-owned shops.
Planned events, Portals, and Multiverses
We at DarkTide don't like standing around and fighting all day, we bring assorted events to liven up our citizens.
- Dungeons to be explored
- PvP Tournaments
- Spleef Tournaments
- Portal Tiles can be earned and skills can be learned.
- There will be Portals in the wild to be discovered that lead to other world destinations, special events, and to other Multiverses
Clans & Settlements
Clans are organizations of players that work together in-game for protection, coordinating building projects, and conquering through strength. In DarkTide if you band together with enough people, you may form settlements. Listed below is the criteria needed to form and maintain said settlements.
Settlements can be built to provide a place for a group of people to commune, live, build, and thrive. All dimensions mention are including a y coordinate above 40. Settlements are started with payment of coin. The larger the settlement, the exponentially the higher coin needed. Upkeep payment in coin will also be necessary to maintain your status as a settlement. Staff will judge your settlements status to the number of active people that are citizens.
To make a settlement you must:
- Have x players (excluding yourself) or more that swear allegiance to you. X being the required number of followers needed to form settlement. (10 for a village, 20 for a town, and 30 for a city.)
- A name for your clan.
- A location that is a minimum 150 blocks away from the center point of any adjacent regions (including the borders).
What a settlement has additional access too:
- Exclusive chat and chat moderator abilities for your chat.
Village 75x75 - 10 Followers
Features
- 75x75 Block protected area (no breaking or placing blocks without worldguard permissions)
- A bed to set your home to.
- A private clan chat channel
- A private vent channel for the clan
There are currently 2 Available upgrades to village, allowing for more space, and more clan perks
DarkTide Senate
Members of the Senate will be in the unique position to be able to cast votes to the developmental path of DarkTide and to the order in which new content gets released to the server.
There will be 2 members of DarkTide’s Senate chosen to represent players that are not members of a clan.
Character building
Perks
Perks are additional in-game abilities.
Craftbook
Build Gates
Build Bridges
Build Elevators
Built Integrated Circuits (IC Essentials, IC Sensors, IC Random, IC Wireless)
Land Owner
Land Owner - Grants you a 35x35 protected piece of land where you can do anything including adding members/owners to its region.

A perk that lets one to dissolve a used or new material back into the raw material.
Perks are bought with quantities of Portal Tile (Portal Tiles are the purple swirl entities that are shown inside operating nether portals). There will be no official connection between Portal Tiles and coin. People will be able to sell or buy them from independent markets, but not from DarkTide Citadel. - I love PVP... I love to grief and of course raiding. Some PVP servers do allow those, but in the end you can't build something nice with the stuff you stole from people or else they will ruin it.
This server... I can work hard and obtain protection through effort and skill, I can already say I am enjoying this by reading the topic.

Fail? Maximum height is 128, and yet it will take 1.000.000 just to make the bottom or the top.... 128.000 for the sides...

For those of you having issues with "mc.thedarktide.net", it resolves to 67.227.238.133. I am able to connect using either, on the default MC port (25565).
