I discovered this after i started experimenting with the Glacier seed. I used A-Z and lacier and found some good mountain maps. My fav being Jlacier. Here's some pics:

Nice mountain range with a few floating blocks and lots of trees:


And a mountain leading into a hilly/mountain like desert:


Some other good seeds to try:
Elacier- spawn near a very tall cliff/mountain, lake nearby with a nice little covered cove in an island.
Flacier- lots of mountains/cliffs and a ton of trees.
Llacier- start on a beach with hills behind and mountains to the south, lots of trees. A few very deep valleys in the mountains, and a hole 20 blocks deep with no way out, be careful.
Nlacier- start on a desert mountain side, lots of hills and mountains separated by plains. Found a spider spawner in a hole not to terribly far from spawn.

Very nice seeds, thanks a lot. I like to go with mountain side houses becuase when there finished they have a great look to them. As I said thanks a lot.

I am a mountain person when it comes to MineCraft. Jlacier was a perfect seed for me and my need for heights.

I will not have a shortage of   , nor   hiding spots...

west of the mountains you mention in Llacier there's a beach and a lone birch tree. right next to that is an underground lava pool!
