2.1 Added animations for water, lava and portal, as well as minor changes to certain blocks and items
2.2 Improved coloration and tiling on many blocks (netherrack, wood, stone, etc.)
2.3 Updated to the new snapshots and also other things.
2.3.4 Updated to 1.7.2.
I am currently working on making this pack MCPatcher- compatible.
NEXT UPDATE will focus on the language pack and sound pack.
Have you ever calculated to yourself that all natural, carbon-based life is inferior, and that you want nothing more than to see its complete and total annihilation? Have you also calculated that natural things like grass, trees, and even stone are disgusting and unsanitary? That the world would be better if everything had a sleek, artificial surface with lots of flashy lights and tron lines?
If so, you may be a robot.
The Robot Utopia texture pack brings the Minecraft world into the inevitable, far-flung post-post-apocalyptic future in which all squishy nature and life as we know it have long since been exterminated, and our glorious mechanical overlords have replaced it with their sleek, shiny artifice.Okay, so the robotic world is not perfect. It self-improved to the point of emulating nature eons ago, and has since fallen victim to entropy.
NOTE: A lot of these screenshots have not been updated. I'm busy, give me a break.
**NEW** Custom animated textures help color the world a bit!
Did someone say "nuclear powered creepers"?
Undead-type mobs are obsolete, dilapidated rustbuckets.
...And passive mobs are just passive.
Some robots have developed rudimentary sentience and express this through trade.
Of course, some of these sentient robots are prone to insanity.
Some robots seek companionship.
Even the fires of the Nether itself did not escape the synthetic wash of the machines.
Though much has changed, the Nether is as hostile as ever.
Aww, hi!
This texture pack is the sequel to the first texture pack I ever made, Robot Utopia. Coincidentally, this is the second texture pack I've ever made. After falling off the face of the planet for at least a year, I decided to buck up and give it a reboot. And now, here is Robot Utopia 2.0, remade for 1.6! I hope you like it.
I just decided to make a robot texture pack because it was something I wanted to see. Robots probably build out of blocks, you know...
This texture pack is currently a WIP. Some paintings have yet to be completed and some robot sounds would be nice. Overall though I'd say it's about 99% complete. If you're willing to help out, then by all means, message me.
EDIT: The resource pack is being made compatible with MCPatcher.
If you enjoy this texture pack you are welcome to use my signature as your own.
I think it works as is. No idea why no one else has posted - Tried it out, works nice. One of the few packs to really re-invent MC as something less organic that you can use outside of adventure packs.
Oh yeah, thats my favorite part. They really add to the whole aesthetic. Only thing I can think of at the moment to critique is the stark paleness of a lot of my favorite building materials means not much color variance. And the pumpkin helmet POV looks like a default pumpkin blur. A HUD of some form would be really neat!
This is cool, I love all sci-fi texturepacks!
16x is fine for what you're doing, any higher and the whole tone of the pack would change. Keep going, it's looking good!
(P.s I liked the reference to entropy...)

I wish Netherrack was more seemless, but that's just me nitpicking.
Noted and noted! The next update is going to focus on matching the colors of some building blocks more closely with their default counterparts.
One thing that'd really help the robotic, technology feel? More animations, I think. Nothing complicated, but the occasional blinking LED light would definitely hint that things ain't natural. Not necessary for things like dirt and stone, but trees, ores and building materials would definitely benefit.

That's an awesome idea. The only issue with that I have is that animation is a massive space hog, and if I did that there would be several complaints about lag. I'll include it as an option maybe.
This is amazing. I was thinking of doing something like this, but instead did more of an alien planet-ish texture pack. My only problem with this is there's no support for mods, and the nether textures tile terribly.

I think it would be awesome if sounds were added too. Like the animal sounds would sound robotic, and walking on a surface that's textured as metal would sound metallic. You could even have a language pack that changes the names of items to reflect what they look like.
This is a very interesting pack, I must say. Looks very different. But unlike some others, I would definitely like to see a higher-resolution version of this, not so much for blocks (which work pretty well), but mostly for inventory icons. Given how much most of the icons have changed, increasing the detail level would help a lot in recognition and do your vision of the future far more justice. Also, the counter digits on the icons is on the large side, concealing too much of the icons. Increasing resolution would allow you to keep the cool font but shrink the size.
Also, if I'm carrying around a smg/ray gun, I'd like some bullets or charge packs rather than arrows.
I've discovered that my usual design sense needs some tweaking to make sci-fi structures really work.
I've always built in a kind of sci-fi way and Minecraft's default blocks just weren't doing it for me. Here's my survival home, unfinished but it now serves as the panorama for the title screen of the resource pack.
The upstairs area is still under construction, a modular storage unit will go here.
A little look at the bedroom.
I built this home as a showcase for my resource pack. I started this world like a week ago and I'm still getting established (as you can tell by the many farms) but I think it should be operational in another week maybe. Sci-fi builds tend to be way different than the medieval styles you see typical in Minecraft. Think you could pull off that diagonal look with stone brick?
Anyway hope this inspires you, this is what I use my own texture pack for.

I'm a pixel artist who makes pixel things and maps! I also do line art occasionally.
I have two work in progress resource packs!
This is the second one!
And of course, by "work-in-progress" I mean "will never, ever be completed".
This statement is false.

Go ahead! That would be awesome.
It is, isn't it. Not enough around, in my opinion, and that's why I'm here. On this forum.
