Enchanting is easily one of Minecraft player's favorite features, and people are always finding new and innovative ways to make the experience better. Some find the most optimal rates of farming XP to enchanting tools, to increase the likelihood of a given enchantment's outcome. However, that very randomness can often be a source of frustration. So, what is a player to do?
They can try out Enchanting Plus, by mssodin28, who has been maintaining and updating this complex mod since 1.3.2!
So, what does this mod do? It completely removes the random aspect of enchanting, allowing you to pick what enchantments you want! It also goes a step beyond, by including enchantments added by other mods! Only valid enchantments will show up for the tool you are trying to upgrade, further simplifying the process, and eliminating the tedious process of trying to figure out what enchantments apply to what gear. Neat!

It's about bloody time this got some spotlighting where people can see it. Cause with a mod like this, theres no reason for people to complain that enchanting is a pain in the rear. and "I don't like mods" people, are Just. Gonna. Miss. Out.

Get this mod, it might change your mind. Prior to using it neither me nor the friend I play with on our server ever enchanted. Now its a race to see who can get the books necessary for a table first. Once you've spent a lot of time mining with an Efficiency V pick its hard to go back.
Never liked enchanting a whole lot, purely because Perfect "God" equipment always became a must-have in almost every server I've ever gone on. This mod just encourages that. Now, it's no longer finding someone who has one, or extreme luck. Now, it's create it yourself, because it's that simple. And anyone who can't is now a n00b.
Probably making it sound worse than it is, but this just encourages "God kit or n00b" environments, in my opinion.
Still, a new mod for the people who want it is always welcome. I just hope it doesn't invade my servers.

Would you rather read a story of knights and dragons, or be in one?
I'm glad people support my dragon raising. Could I ask for assistance with this one now?
Check out my dragon scroll(http://dragcave.net/user/Heric) if you want to see the dragons I have. I may get more dragons later.
Must be a slow news day if an ancient-as-hell cheat mod gets featured. What's next on Community Creations? A mod that lets you make Obsidian tools that instant-kill mobs and break blocks in one hit?
While this is true, it also destroys the frustrating chance of getting a bad enchantment.
There's no such thing as a "bad enchantment". Any enchantment makes your item better than it was before. Maybe there should be some bad enchantments, though, just so people will appreciate what they have when they get something that isn't the absolute best possible combination enchantments ever.

I see someone really doesn't like this mod.
I'm personally happy for the modder, even though I don't use mods unrelated to mapmaking, hehe.

Can we get a tutorial for downloading this in 1.6.2 because I am use to getting zip files rather than the .jar. I only know to install .zip files and being able to put them in, not .jar.

Yes the moon can be orange, you'll see it when the moon has just risen.
Cheese door, iron sky, happy Iceland. I just said random words. The reason of this: complete random, but the question is, why are you reading this?
Been running this mod on my server, absolutely can't live without it now. It changes the way enchanting works in such a way that you slowly begin upgrading an item instead of simply slapping it in and praying for the best. I've had a sword for instance I've slowly added enchants to and had for quite awhile that's gotten so expensive to repair its insane.
Love this mod, would recommend it to absolutely anyone. Such a quality of life enhancement.

People, you realize you do have more control over what type of enchants you can give onto your tools in vanilla, right? Enchanted books! Seriously, whenever you go to enchant, just use a book. If you like it, keep it, if not, throw it away. It's not an expensive item to get rid of, and you're really only wasting experience, but by that time, you probably have/can build an xp grinder. Honestly, I think this mod kinda ruins the fun of enchanting, because it's the random enchants that gives that nice, fun anticipation feel.

I suggest you start enchanting
I see what you did there.
