I want to update my mod to 1.6.2 from 1.5.2, but I cannot find the bin folder, or any similar folder in .minecraft.
How would I do this? I have looked through everywhere but I cannot find a way.
I have set up MCP and forge SRC, but am waiting for a bin folder to complete it.

Forge now comes with MCP, Just download forge and run install.cmd. It also automatically gives all required jars.

firstly it is in the versions folder now due to the new launcher....also forge will download the proper files as always now at least since 1.4.x versions. So to update just drop your code in the src/minecraft folder in mcp and begin your update. then to test just install the new forge in the new minecraft for 1.6.2 and put your mod in the mods folder as usual...

If you are talking about setting up an Eclipse enviroment (eclipse noob here), the JAR files are all around now.

I setup up my enviroment using [mcp/eclipse/Minecraft/.classpath] as reference, open that file in notepad and it will show the path to every jar you need.

To update, go to files.minecraftforge.net, download the recommended version for 1.6.2, unzip it, go into it and (assuming your on windows) double-click on install.cmd. It will download everything, set up everything, and decompile everything for you. You don't need to do anything else. Then, just transfer your code and assets.

I am really confused. I installed, forge, but there isn't a SRC folder. Do I need to put the bin into jars?
I don't see a assets folder either. Please help
When I open Eclipse I don't see anything. only see two packages called Client and server.

forge/mcp/src doesn't exist? It should be created when you run install.cmd...

Sure you downloaded the "source" forge? As Parker8283 pointed, you need to run install.cmd and it will download all you need..

Update: I tested the latest forge source, the install.cmd DOES NOT fill the src folder anymore. You need to run "decompile" right after, like old times.

Really? It did that with #789, which is the recommended version...

Maybe it was a problem with my download, never happened before. I didn't pay attention to the prompt.
