I have been creating an installer for a modpack with a custom directory instead of .minecraft, Everything works perfectly.
Basically, what I am trying to do is find a way of automatically setting up a profile for the user, so they do not have to go through the 'create new profile' screen.
The highlighted red sections are what the user would need to change. (With the exception of JVM arguments which MAY need to be changed)
The instructions would be simple, but rather tedious if the support gets flooded with questions as to why it doesn't work, when its because they forgot to select the version or change the path.
I know versions are stored in \.minecraft\versions but have no idea where, if any profiles are stored. If they are stored somewhere, I presume it is a form of config file.
Any ideas? Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Launcher profiles are stored in the launcher_profiles.json file in your .minecraft folder.
Cheers, lad. Much obliged.
