Same thing is happening to me. But if its 1.6.1 or 1.6.2 that isn't working, then 1.6 should work fine.

Your suggestion didn't work. Did it work for you?

Try running the new launcher as Administrator.
I used to be a Support Guru, but then ran out of time. I have more time now, but I'll only make the occasional helpful post.

Did not help at all, besides I already stated that it ran fine perfectly before without running as admin.

Try moving the Launcher into Downloads. Or just delete the older versions, download the new Minecraft launcher HERE: http://minecraft.net/download
DO NOT move the file to desktop or Task bar :D

I have the exact same problem.  I can't run Forge because of it.  I tried a complete new installation and still have that problem.

I can run vanilla Minecraft 1.6.2 but still see that error in the launcher.  But when I try to run Forge, I get that error with the
Game ended with no troubles detected (exit code 0)
even though the game never started.

This is a Windows permission misconfiguration. I assume you have tried deleting everything in .minecraft? (To do this, copy the saves folder elsewhere, and delete .minecraft)

I got the same problem but I fixed it. Here is what you need to do:

1. Open up minecraft launcher.
2. Open up %appdata%
3. Go to C:\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\versions\1.7.4
4. Delete the 1.7.4-natives-592473191721018
5. Do NOT close the folder
6. Run the launcher

This worked for me! I hope this will help all of you guys! Posted Image
