If so, I need help! I have some models in .max format that I desperately need to convert to .obj. Is anyone willing to convert it for me? Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I'm desperate. And I figured people in the mapping / modding community might have it.

You can download http://www.blender.org. It's free and it will convert your 3DS format meshes to just about any other format.

Why on earth would you even ask this here; we're a forum discussing minecraft, not 3DS Max. If it's minecraft models, at least post it in the Fan Art section.
Now, on an actually related note, have you actually tried the export feature of 3DS Max?

Well, Mr. Grumpy-butt, I explained why I asked this here in my OP. Secondly, do you really think that if I owned 3DS Max that I would be looking for someone who does so they could export it for me? Stop being so negative. Here:

No. You did not explain why. You said you thought us, in the M&M section could know, but I asked, why on earth minecraftforum? Why not any random CG forum?
And, "Mr. Grumpy-butt", you didn't give any information as of to what you have on hand: What software, knowledge etc. From the OP, one could assume that you were trying to convert it to a .obj to open in another software, after having modeled it in 3DS Max. Please, either start talking politely, or clarify.

You're right, I apologize. I asked here because I know this is an active community and I'd be likely to get a quick answer. Also, the models I'm trying to convert will be used with Binvox and Viewvox in a build project I have planned for my Minecraft Let's Play.
