Here is my vanilla-ish Resource Pack (Works with Minecraft 1.6 on). it is a shading edit that give the game a more detailed look. it adds that extra "Umph" to make building designed with the default textures of minecraft comparable with those of fancy resource packs. it is a great mix of performance and aesthetics as it is a 32X32 pack. it is definitely a work in progress so i would be delighted to hear your feedback! ( I have added a couple LOT of blocks after i made this video so check it out!)
Nice work dude!
When I start making video, I'll use it; keep up the good work.
Oh, and if you mess with the rain, make sure you test it first, I just got finished using a resource pack that didn't texture the rain.
I freaked out and thought it was some hidden thing added to minecraft where you randomly get teleported to an alternate dimension.
I mean, like, I was just walking through a field, and light spinning white pillars started to appear as it was approaching night time. Then they got thicker and I couldn't see anything.
Exactly how much of the pack is changed compared to the default? People really don't like default edits. I want to see this become an actual pack, and I'll show support.

i am working on converting most/all of the Minecraft blocks to "HD". thank you very much for your support and i will keep updating this pack on frequent basis as i am still developing it! i'm glad do hear your feedback!

Just a word of advice.
Thank you also for this advice and support om my work! i will keep on Working on it.
Also i would like some feed back. Which glass texture do you like?
I like the one with the border better, but that's just me. I'm not really a fan of the whole connected textures thing (that kind of seems that was aimed for); I'd like to now the boarders of the block from afar. I mean, If you leave it be, people could just get mcpatcher for that.

my friend said the same thing. ok then i think i will move on with the one with the borders.
Thank you XD
I can hardly see anything different, does thise really change the vibe of minecraft?
it does not really change the "vibe" but that is part of the point. it is a updated "HD" pack. the best expamle to see this is to compare stone Brick. Here, look:
Do you see the difference?
now i have done this with 52+ blocks and counting. it really adds up!
i hope you have a nice day,

no i'me sorry its not. it is still mostly 16X16 but i'me upgrading blocks to 32X32. but now, no mods are required to install this! it shouldn't change very much, maybe a very small fps decrease.
Thanks

As a developer of a default enhancement, I have to say the shadows are nice and sharp, but make everything look like paper without additional shading everywhere. Actual default enhancements are a long venture because they will simply look "off" unless you add shading to all parts of each texture, meaning light and dark shading on every object. In the case of Stone Brick, the bricks need some edge shading, which would be dark, and some light-spot shading, which would be light, and it's location would be based on the shape you are going for with it. Without all shading, the raised textures look flat, so no shading is any less important.
As for the ores, I feel like they are a paper cut-out. I am comparing things to paper a lot, but it is simply because it is also thin and would leave a shadow below it. The ores should pop out from the stone, but the shading seems opposite. The ores appeared in the stone naturally, and upon mining, it would be embedded in the stone. So there should be shading on the stone to make it look like it is recessed under the formation of the mineral gem, and the mineral gem should have dark bevel shading, and you could even go farther and add typical gem edge sparkle.
Also, you should format your thread title correctly. You do have the compatible version, but you also need have the resolution.

The format is correct now. You changed it since I posted, or another moderator edited it, but it is correct now.
Take as long as you need though. Real life is always more important than progress on a texture pack.

it works for all updates that use resource packs. XD
EDIT: i just realised how little help this provided, hehe. if you are having problems running Minecraft Defined, please use the "Extract Here" function on the .zip file. i may have put the resource pack in one too many folders. i am sorry if this happened and i am sorry CheranoKreeft for not helping you immediately. i have updated the ReadMe fle with some basic help like what i just provided.
Hey dude, i was just wandering when do you think the next update will come out? I really love this pack, it's exactly what i've been waiting for, hope you are still working on it
