is there a way to chain it to forge #953? it seems you can only chain it to #965, and Optifine doesn't like that number (apparently). if so, please help me! thanks in advance!
I am trying to install this along side the optifine 1.7.2 build and I was wondering if there is a way to do the manual tweak class method for the 1.7.2 dev builds.

Hello... Umm.. I was just wondering, is there any way to have OptiFine work with LiteLoader? I've been trying to figure this out for my friend for some time but the closest I've come is just having both mods installed to different profiles.

For 1.6.4 just put the optifine files into the liteloader jar.
For 1.7.2 just put the optifine jar in mods/1.7.2
Manual installation for the 1.7.2 beta is not supported at the moment. Basically because the beta is for testing purposes only and having it installed with other things presents a non-ideal testing environment. Feedback has been good so far and there will be a final beta quite soon, after that the final release will once again support manual installation and I'll update the instructions at that point.
Well, I've been converting my mod over to LiteLoader and it's all been going great! Just a few questions though:
How would you recommend doing a config file? Is there a built-in method LiteLoader has to do it?
Is there a way to check for an instance of a certain GUI being open? With ML/Forge you could do it by using something like (guiscreen instanceof GuiVideoSettings) for example.
I've been testing in the 1.6.4 environment right now, so hopefully the switch to 1.7.2 goes by okay.
Sure it will be fine no matter what..

It does, you can use the @ExposableOptions annotation on the class and @Expose for the fields which will be saved. The config is loaded on startup and can be saved with LiteLoader.writeConfig. I've found it's easy to use and works well. There's an example implementation of it in the Example Mod and some more noteworthy information about it in Mumfrey's post here.

Quick question, and I hope you forgive me. Is there any timeline for 1.7.4 development in place? I ask this because the only multiplayer server I'm on happens to be using 1.7.4, not 1.7.2. As a result, I'm currently without mods of any kind, including your excellent liteloader, and mod_Macros and ImprovedChat.

I'm not going to report this since you asked so nicely and did ask to be forgiven, but be aware that this kind of post is against the forum rules.
As you're probably aware, the workflow that many mod-devs including myself use is powered by a tool known as the Minecraft Coder Pack (MCP), and whilst it's possible to make mods without it the tool makes the process several orders of magnitude more efficient (think a reduction of 1 day to 10 minutes in terms of efficiency increase and you get the idea). The main reason for this efficiency increase is the availability of mappings which convert the fully obscured (obfuscated) internal names to "friendly" names which make the code possible to read. Normally updating MCP involves updating these mappings and nothing else.
However because of internal changes in Minecraft with 1.7.x the "old" MCP method no longer works and an entirely new method has been devised, with a lot of help from other members of the community like the developers of Forge. That process has delayed the release of a final 1.7.2 MCP system and the 1.7.4 mappings won't be generated until the new 1.7.2 system is perfected, which should be soon. Once that update is complete we can start to make mods for 1.7.4, until then you must be patient.
Further queries on this topic will be reported as per the forum rules.

Thanks for that explanation, I was sure there must have been a reason. I hadn't seen any roadmap established, so I thought I'd at least ask. I miss mod_macros, I got eaten by witches before I could frantically type /home wheretheheckisthebackspacekeybecauseImadeabadmistake

The solution is to follow people like @SeargeDP, @ProfMobius, @minecraftcpw, @LexManos, @AbrarSyed101 and myself on twitter. Twitter is easiest to update and so news about new releases and general progress tends to go there. Forums are too cumbersome and there are too many of them for updates to be easy to post. Plus it encourages people posting asking questions which frankly just slow things down even more by stealing time that could be more gainfully spent.
Tentatively, I'd say a final release of MCP for 1.7.2 seems imminent, and the move to 1.7.4 is unlikely to be too slow after that.
