That's right, the PC version of Minecraft has surpassed 11 million sales! Minecraft as a game continues to have a phenomenal level of success, with humble beginnings in the hands of Mojang founding member Markus "Notch" Persson, and growing over a period of years into one of the most successful indie game titles in gaming history, spanning PC, console, and handheld systems in record numbers. In addition, the recent changes to Minecraft in 1.5 - and future changes planned the game, including horses, a revamped game structure for easier modding and better performance, and many different and exciting new items - Mojang continues to push the game to new heights, even as they get involved in the community, with everything from direct-feedback bug fixing to real-life renewal projects.
Pocket Edition surpassed 10 million sales in late April, and is hot on the heels of the PC behemoth, and MCX360 isn't far behind with well over 6 million sales. Congratulations, Mojang!
Why do you think that? Pretty much every gamer has heard of Minecraft by now. I doubt having it on Steam would get those people to buy it if they haven't already. I mean, why use a DRM if you don't have to?
95% of teens would scream if Justin Beiber was about to jump of the top of the Empire State Building. If you are in the 5% that would grab a seat and some popcorn and yell JUMP! JUMP! JUMP! post this into your sig.You know you want too
Yay to Minecraft! 11 million. Thats a lot! I remember when the game was still in its begining and they added blaze rods. I was so excited! Oh the good ol' days!
Congratz to MojangAB for getting that many units sold! But... I kind of have a problem with that banner... Since it was used for the premiere of Minecraft 2...
That's crazy! heck I remember when it just hit 100,000 registered....and Akonman or whatever his name was getting the 1 millionth cape. Evryone thought there'd be a 5 millionth and 10 millionth cape. But guess not!
Wish the game was still like it used to be though.. Beta 1.7 and before was always the best. Now it's just a different game...

Yah I agree, I suppose, however, steam would do one thing, it would give a bit more publicity, but I don't think the change would be extremely substantial.

Yup. Beta 1.7.3 is, and will always be, the best update. The Adventure Update changed everything.

Or if you have multi platform mc (IE. all 3) you are 3 of 27million
I still remember when Notch added cake to celebrate... what was it? 5 million sales? 1 million sales? It was quite a while ago, haha.
