More elements, you say?

This is a mod request about radioactive materials and toxic stuff. If this ever becomes a mod, radioactive patches like the one below would be rare to find. Found only at levels 1-48

Radioactive Sludge Patch

Here are the items/blocks that would be included:

WHITE= Possible to collect in inventory
RED = Only possible to collect by using cheats

Nuke: Creates a blast the size of 20 TNT combined
Iron Furnace: Smelts stuff faster, uses sludge/lava buckets only
Thorite Block: Mined to collect Thorite Ore
Uranium Block: Mined to collect Uranium Ore
Toxic Sludge: A slow, liquid substance that hurts players/mobs
Uranium Ore: Can only be smelted in an Iron Furnace
Thorite Ore: Can only be smelted in an Iron Furnace
Refined Uranium: A recipe for the Nuke
Refined Thorite: A recipe for the Nuke
Sludge Bucket: Can be placed in an Iron Furnace or on the ground

Effects on mobs & players


If a mob or player gets exposed to the toxic sludge, the skin's colorwheel will slowly turn green.
Radiation exposure will make you ill. here are the side effects of the "greeness"

1. Players speed slow down by half
2. Mining takes longer
3. Health slowly goes away

The cure(s):

1. Sleep in a bed
2. Or eat cooked fish

The ores don't have much uses at the moment. But they can make this:

Rubber Materials

Raw Rubber

Raw Rubber is un-natural quickrubber made by using soft and watery materials.

Rubber

Rubber is a soft, smooth plastic-like material used for making Hazmat Suits.

Hazardous Material Environment Suit (HazMat)

The Hazmat Suit prevents radiation damage from the player. But the longer your in radioactive territory, the more drained your suit gets!

Well, Ive always loved the idea. But what if, instead of just a lever powering random redstone, you needed like a nuclear power block to power dispensers,jukeboxes,note boxes, and opening doors. it make so much more sence.
maybe crafting recipe be iron box with uranium in the middle. or something like that. anyway. OH GOD RADIOACTIVE SLUDGE IS FLOODING MY ROOM. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

here are a few suggestions which would go nicely with these ideas if you made a mod (just suggestions mind):

1 - the better quality the armour you're wearing, the longer you can be exposed to radiation without becoming sick
2 - RADIOACTIVE ARROWS! (possibly integrated with rangecraft?)
3 - to go with my armour suggestion, maybe a special helmet which offers more protection, crafted like this

Just so people don't get confused, I made a quick texture pack to show what it COULD look like ingame.

I love the hazmat idea. I might add that idea aswell..

I absolutley LOVE this idea! Ive been wanting uranium/nuclear items to be in minecraft!
I have some ideas for you aswell!

How about a hazmat suit?
Helmet:
    
    
     

Body:
    
     
    

Legs:
    
  []  
  []  

Shoes:
  []  
  []  
[]  []  []

It would make you 80% less likley to catch radiation.
Replace the Iron With gold, it makes you immune to radiation, but less protection.

Nuclear generator:
    
    
    

= Refined uranium

What this would do would be a power source (like redstone torches), and it would carry a current up to 100 redstone wires!


Lead lined Chest:
(note, you could add some lead ore in the mod to make this)
    
    
    

= Lead Block

What this would do would be if you store radioactive materials in a chest, it would stop it leaking radiation by using a lead lined chest!

H-Bomb:
         
         
     

= Refined uranium
= Water bucket
This Block would have an explosive radius of 50 blocks!


These are just some ideas i brainstormed if you would like to include them or not, anyway... I show my support for this mod!

Well, this isn't your exact idea, but it adds some radioactive stuff, some new liquids, and a hazmat suit.

Hmm, Plasmacraft already has uranium, it just doesnt spawn yet And were also considering adding radiation poisoning.

EDIT: So whats the point in requesting a mod thats almost exactly the same as one that already exists?

I like it but can you change the texture of the hazmats so it looks more amazing like this? with the air tank so you can lose air, and refill it.

I created this thread way before I heard of these mods.

[sarcasm]Now that you mention it, I should report my own thread to a moderator because the ideas are so similar.[/sarcasm]

EDIT:

I just search industrialcraft and I see the iron furnace. I never stole anything. I made my own texture and never heard of the mod until you mentioned it. Great minds think alike.
