Flan's Mod

Flan's mod is a combination of Planes, Vehicles and WW2Guns rewritten with a whole load of awesome new features and designed to allow easy custom content creation by anyone. Flan's mod alone is useless, it requires content packs in order to be of any use. You can browse below for content packs by me, Flan, and by other people who have made custom content packs.

MODS : A modification to or a plugin for Minecraft designed to change, add or remove content, created by or hosted by with written permission the OWNER

OWNER : James Flannery, the original author or permitted re-hoster of the MODS

USER : The person downloading, installing or using any of the MODS

Liability

The MODS are provided without warranty and therefore the USER of the MODS takes full responsibility for their copy of minecraft, their savegames, their computer and any other damages caused by these MODS.

Use

The USER of the mods may download, install and play the MODS on their computer. Downloading must be done through this page or through the links given on this page, unless written permission has been given to other hosters elsewhere.

Redistribution

The MODS and derivative works may only be redistributed with advance written permission from the OWNER. It is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN to make money from these MODS and/or derivative works (selling, adf.ly, adcraft.co, sharecash etc) and the OWNER may claim damages or otherwise rectify the situation.

Installation

Flan's Mod is now very very easy to install.

Installation for 1.5.2 Client AND Server

1. Install the most recent Minecraft Forge recommended build

2. Download Flan's Mod 2.3.1 for Minecraft 1.5.2

3. Place the downloaded .zip in the mods folder

(On the client you can find the mods folder by opening Minecraft, going to the texture pack menu, pressing "Open Texture Pack Folder" and going up one level)

4. Get some content packs

Recipes

Most actual items and blocks are separate from the mod, distributed in content packs, but there are still a few things you will need to know how to craft that are in the base mod.

Some notes about plane and vehicle crafting

• The planes and vehicles will take any engine. The engine speed adds to the plane / vehicle speed so better engines make the plane / vehicle go faster.
  
• Guns are always optional. You can put any deployable guns into the gun slots, but some planes / vehicles disallow use of certain slots.
  
• The blueprints section lists all the planes / vehicles you have made in the past and clicking on one of these places as much stuff into the crafting table as possible to make that particular plane / vehicle.

Teams Mod Instructions

Teams Mod is designed to allow you to play FPS-like gametypes on your Minecraft server. To use it, you will need to be op on your server.

1) Enter "/teams listGametypes" into the chat window to see the available gametypes

2) Enter "/teams setGametype <Gametype>" where <Gametype> is one of the gametypes listed in step 1 ("TDM" for example)

3) Enter "/teams listAllTeams" to see the available teams

4) Enter "/teams setTeams <team1> <team2>" and add more teams if the gametype you chose requires more than two teams.

5) Enter "/teams getSticks"

6) Go to creative mode "/gamemode 1" and spawn in some Player Spawners, Item Spawners and Flags (all of which are in the "Flan's Mod Teams Stuff" creative tab)

7) Place a flag at the centre of each base you want to create and then spread some player spawners around the flag in places where you want players to spawn.

8) Use the stick of connecting to connect the spawners to the flagpole by clicking one after the other

9) Use the stick of ownership on the flagpole to change the base owner

10) Item spawners may be left unconnected (in which case anyone can pick up their items) or connected (in which case only people on the team of the base connected to the spawner can pick up the items). To change the spawn delay of an item spawner, right click it with an empty hand. To add an item stack to the spawner, right click it with that stack in your hand.

"/teams setGametype None" : Switch Teams mod off

"/teams setVariable friendlyFire false" : Allow / disallow friendly fire

"/teams setVariable autobalance true" : Enable / disable autobalance

"/teams setVariable scoreLimit 100" : Set the TDM score limit

"/teams armourDrops false" : Turn off armour drops

"/teams weaponDrops smart" : Turn on smart drops (other options are on/off)

"/teams canBreakGlass false" : Whether bullets break glass, lightstone and the like

"/teams explosions false" : Whether explosive weaponry damages the environment

"/teams mgLife 100" : Set the lifespan of MGs. 0 means they never dissapear

"/teams vehicleLife 100" : Set the lifespan of vehicles. 0 means they never dissapear

"/teams planeLife 100" : Set the lifespan of planes. 0 means they never dissapear

NEW : Maps feature
Now you can set your bases into groups (called maps) and use a simple command to set the current map, and hence the set of currently used bases.

"/teams listMaps" : List the maps
"/teams addMap shortName The Long Name of The Map" : Make a new map. "shortName" is a reference name used to set the map and the full name follows.
"/teams setMap shortName" : Sets the current map to be the map with the given shortName
"/teams removeMap shortName" : Remove a map from the list
Use the Stick of Mapping ("/teams getSticks") to set the map of a base

Troubleshooting

If you are having any problems with installing or using the mod or content packs, please use the following methods to either solve your problem or send me a PM with your error log.

Spoiler:

Run the error test and post the result. An error log speaks a thousand words.
If you're having problems, download this (windows only) and run it to see the error. If you post a problem that's related to an error without an error report, it will be ignored.

To copy an error from the command window right click > select all > press enter to copy.

If you get the following error, follow the instructions here.
'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file

Common Problems
Please search for your error here before posting it.

Problem : java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: forge/MinecraftForgeClient

Solution : You did not install Forge correctly or at all. Make sure you are running the right version and try installing it again.

Problem : The plane won't move
Solution : Press "R" and put some fuel cans in the fuel menu

Problem : java.lang.NullPointerException at EntityPlane.J_(EntityPlane.java:535)

Solution : You probably forgot the Simple Parts Pack. Install it.

Problem : I cannot see any items in Creative mode, I cannot spawn items with TMI or I cannot craft anything.

Solution : You forgot to install the content packs or you installed them incorrectly. Check they are installed correctly and if not try again

Installation

To install a custom content pack, find the download link below and download the file.

You should have downloaded a zip file with a folder and probably a readme inside.[/left]

If the /.minecraft/Flan/ directory does not exist, create it. It should automatically be created when you run Minecraft with Flan's mod installed.

Copy the folder into the /.minecraft/Flan/ directory.

Run Minecraft, and hopefully everything will work out nicely.

Simple Parts Pack

The simplest pack of all, a pack of useless parts that do nothing. This pack provides lots of plane and vehicle components to allow custom content creators to make their own planes without inventing a whole new set of parts or making themselves dependent on my content packs.

World War Two Pack

This is the pack everyone will remember from my old mods and is the biggest of all my content packs. It is much the same as the old mods with a few new additions :

This pack has cars, tanks, fighter planes, bombers, AA guns and a ton of weapons so you'll be having fun for hours on end. The only way you would be having more fun is if multiplayer worked, but do not worry; that is coming soon.

(The Sopwith Camel and Fokker Dr.1 are included with this pack because there is not enough content to create a separate WW1 pack)

Modern Weapons Pack

This is probably the pack you've all been waiting for, modern weapons! This pack is smaller than the WW2 pack, with only guns and no planes or vehicles, but it has some pretty good weapons that will provide plenty of entertainment and advanced protection from those damned creepers.

The biplane is the only one that should be implemented.  Early age aviation is all I wish to have.  If/when you do more PLEASE either make them separate downloads, or make the different planes toggle-able modules.

Suggestion, is make it go a little faster, feels like im going about as fast as a snail, and that, atleast in theory, would not fly.

Any way you could have it ramp the speed aswell?

Like start at 0 then go to 50% then take a few minutes to get to top speed?
