Hello minecraftians of all ages! I am infamous writer sc1020! Here today I bring you a collection of short stories by, well, me!

They call me Herobrine.
It's supposed to be an insult, as if I am an unpure hero. I'm just like them, but with power. They say I have no soul, but I can't help it. Sometimes I can't control myself and all I can do is watch the horror I unleash. The fires that have ended millions. My brother got all the luck. He has the same power, but can control it. He is worshipped, I am feared.
I was forced into hiding. I am immortal so no one can put an end to my terrible acts. I can't kill myself either. Sometimes I forget I don't need to breathe. I live in a mountain millions of blocks from civilization. If I were to lose control, all I could destroy were mountains.
One day all that changed. The day I got a knock on my door. I didn't think that would happen, being as no one had ever been to these parts. It had been over 4,000 years since the event people called as The Vanishing, where I had disappeared. I could open portals and hear what people said.
I opened the door, expecting a visit from my brother, but instead it was a girl. She was young, maybe 13 at the oldest. She had clearly been living on her own, as no parent would force her to go through whatever made her look what she was. Her face was covered in ash and dirt. She carried a pickaxe that was dented. She had many tears in her leather armor and blood trickled down her arm. She was freezing, even though it was summer.
"Please, may I come in?" she asked.
"Sure," I said, "I've never had company, but I always welcome it. Come in, come in."
I opened the door for her and showed her inside. It was quite big, as it was inside a colossal mountain. It had a warm fireplace, three bedrooms for guests, a master bedroom, a kitchen, and a storage area. By the fireplace were two wool couches. She sat down and I brought out a blanket. Sure, couches and blankets weren't the items in the laws of Notch, but I was too far away for him to find out.
I brought her over a hot drink and got one for myself. I went over and sat down with her. I had luckily found her before she had frozen to death. She was shivering, but she still could talk normal.
"What brings you to this part of Minecraft? I thought no one lives here," I said.
"I just spawned here one day," she said, "I've been living on my own. I have no family. I lived inside a giant section of trees, with a giant platform to live on, but someone, a man in a strange mask, burned it all it all to the ground."
"That's terrible," I said, "Forgive me for asking all these questions, but what is your name?"
"I suppose I should have introduced myself, but I am so cold," she said, "I don't really have a name, so I named myself Annabelle. But you can call me Ann."
"Well, Ann," I said, "There's just one more thing I have to ask. Do you know who I am?"
"Well," Ann said, "Everyone does. Notch informed me all about you. He showed you burning everything. It's terrible what I've seen."
"I know," I said, "I don't want to do it. Sometimes, something takes control of me. But if you know about my terrible acts, why did you not run away?"
"Everyone deserves a second chance," Ann said. For a while, we just sat, enjoying the warmth of the netherrack-lit fire. It was peaceful and comforting. I hadn't realized, but Ann's wounds had healed. But something about her made me want to prove that I could do good. I broke the silence and said the single sentence that would change my life.
"We're going to find who did this to you," I said.
"What do you mean?"
"I want to do something good for once. Prove myself. We're going to find out who destroyed your home and kill him."
"Don't you think that's a little extreme?"
"I do, but I think your home isn't the only one he's after. Since he likes burning things, let's just refer to him as Pyro."
"Uh... okay. Looks like we'll need some gear."
"Already on it," I said. I quickly vanished, teleporting to my storage room. I brought back two sets of iron armor and two diamond swords. I also brought with me one infinity bow. I returned and gave Ann a set of armor, a sword, and the bow.
"Thanks," Ann said, "Let's head out. I'll show you the way to the forest where I lived."
And so, packing up tons of food in our inventory, along with bringing fresh picks, materials, an anvil, a crafting table, and a furnace in case we needed to use any of them. Later that night, we set up camp, lighting some netherrack (which we had also brought) for a campfire. We ate dinner, put out the fire, and got some rest.
I woke up in the middle of the night to a hiss. While still groggy, I managed to slice the creeper's head off before it exploded. Ann woke with a start. After explaining what happened to her, we kept going forward. After about three more days, we had reached the forest where Ann used to live.
Most of the tress were charred stumps now. There were no signs of animal life and the forest was cold and quiet. I smelled fire still, though it had been almost a week since Pyro had been here. Pyro had struck again. The fire was coming from the east. It was almost night, so we would have to go fast.
"I smell fire," Ann said, "He must be close."
"I was just thinking the same thing," I said. We headed to the east, running as fast as we could. The last thing we needed was hostiles while we were fighting Pyro. Finally, we reached a giant house made of only non-flammable materials. Pyro's house. A man in a strange mask walked out. The mask was half black, half red.
Without saying a word, he took out a flaming sword and charged. Ann took out her bow and shot him as he charged. She got him in the shoulder. Pyro dropped his sword. He jumped over Ann's next arrow, pulling the first one out of his shoulder. He landed and picked up his sword, blocking her next shot.
I rolled over to the side, out of Pyro's sight, but Ann could still see me. I ran over as fast as I could and tackled Pyro, giving him a stab in the stomach.
"Please," Pyro said, "Don't kill me."
"Give me one reason why I shouldn't," I said.
"Because I've been the one controlling you, making you go berserk. I know a mind-control technique. I've been framing you so I would never get caught. But for some reason, a week ago, I couldn't control you. So I did the job myself."
"You still don't deserve to live. But who's under the mask?" I asked. I pulled off Pyro's mask. He wasn't anybody I knew, but his face was scorched entirely. No wonder he hid behind the mask.
"You're demented," I said, stabbing the sword into his chest. I didn't realize it, but I had just saved the world from myself. Pyro vanished in a puff of white smoke, leaving his mask behind. I didn't dare put it on in fear of becoming like him.
"You did it!" Ann yelled with joy, hugging me. From that point on, we lived together. I realized that I had nothing to prove about myself. If one person could believe in me, the whole world could. Life wasn't too bad, but something told me the world would need me again. I may have no soul, but I have a big heart.
And that is all I need.
Perhaps this will be a fanfiction one day. Shadows of Reality won't last forever, you know...
Today I'm going to tell you a strange story. It is stranger than any ever heard. It is not meant to be scary, but it does teach a lesson in a strange way. It's the story of my twin brother Finley, a greedy enderman.
Our mother was human and our father an enderman. I was human, unlike my brother. When we were 18, we decided to move out. We chose the peaceful Overworld, as the End was currently at war. But for some reason our parents refused to leave themselves.
Finley, as I said before, was very greedy. When I came back from mining, he constantly wanted the greater share. I didn't say anything, trying to keep myself patient. But I had been bottling up my anger for three years. One day, it was just too much.
"I am tired of you constantly wanting more than me!" I yelled one day, "I do hard work to get these ores and you want more then me? This is insane!"
"Yes, but I use it better," Finley replied, somehow staying calm, "I deserve more of it."
Before I could reply, something strange happened. Black tendrils shot up from under the ground, bursting through the floor. They grabbed Finley, trying to pull him under. He teleported away, to my side. We pulled out our swords and attempted to fight off the tendrils. But when I struck my sword against it, an electrical barrier formed around them.
They reached for Finley and grabbed him, shocking him to the extent where he couldn't teleport away. All I could do was watch as my brother struggled to get out of the tendrils.
You have been corrupted with greed, a voice said, You know what it's like to want power. You will be of use to me, Finley Dekker. For you shall be my servant FOREVERMORE! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
"Finley, no!" I yelled, desperately leaping forward. His eyes turned red and the tendrils released him. It was strange. Foolishly, I thought he was okay.
"Phew, I thought those things got you," I said, "Maybe you do deserve some more. For some reason, this argument caused those tendril things to come up."
"All hail Lord Herobrine," Finley said, grabbing me by the throat and pushing me against the wall, "The Dark Era begins today. Herobrine shall conquer."
I reached for my sword and id what I never had done before. I attacked my own brother. He pulled otu his sword, too. We were in a large duel. After it seemed like I was winning, he teleported both of us to a massive throne room with a dark era about it. Herobrine's Castle.
Upon the throne sat the King of Darkness himself. He was pleased and approached his new victim (me).
"Finley!" Herobrine said, "You have done me well. So well that I think you deserve to kill him. You said it yourself, the Dark Era begins today. KILL HIM!"
Finley took out his sword and slowly brought it towards my neck. It would be over without anyone knowing what I happened. I would disappear.
"Finley!" I said, "You don't have to do this! It's Herobrine doing this, not you. You're the boss of your body! Fight it!"
Finley paused for a second. For a moment, just a short moment, his eyes turned purple again. But they instantly switched back to red.
"What are you waiting for?!" Herobrine yelled, "KILL HIM!!!!"
"Finley, do it for me," I said. Finley suddenly understood. He paused, as if something was happening in his mind. His eyes turned purple again and he walked towards Herobrine.
"I need to kill someone alright," Finley said, "You get the honors of dying now. The Dark Era will end before it begins."
He turned to me and said, "Quickly. Build and obsidian shield and surround yourself."
I knew what he was thinking. Every enderman can literally make themselves explode. It's suicide, but the explosion is so powerful it could even kill Herobrine. He was going to do it. I sadly, but quickly, built the obsidian shield. As soon as I surrounded myself, I heard a large explosion. Finley had done it.
All that was left was a bit of green dust. A minced ender pearl. I picked it up. These were the last remains of my brother. He died to save me and the world. I would always remember him. I eventually found my way back home. Every time I mine, I set aside half of my loot in honor of Finley. And sometimes, when I look up at the stars, I see a constellation that makes a face.
The face of Finley, the Unkown Hero.
" "> There comes a time in everyone's life when they come into a near-death situation and then try to explain how everything got to that point. Well, at this point, that was my current state.
I was stuck on a one-block wide ledge, hanging over lava. Someone far worse than Herobrine walked towards me. If I approached him, I would be tortured and killed. If I jumped, I would receive a slow, painful, fiery death. Now, here's the part where I have to explain. To think this all happened because of a final exam...
In our city, you couldn't just call yourself a Redstoner and suddenly you are one. It was much more complicated. You had to go through tons of classes. I was just about to take the final exam for Advanced Redstoning, the final class. I just had one more simple test.
Well, not simple. I had to seek an elder who lived on a high mountain. Even more corny, right? Anyways, let me just continue. They said he was super-smart and couldn't die. My goal was to trap him. It seemed difficult, but 50 others had done it before me.
Luckily, we were to travel in groups of three. So I got to bring two friends to help me trap this elder. I chose the only two people in my class I could trust. Ethan and Carter were my two best friends and they were up to the same point.
Ethan was the oldest of us. He was skilled with tripwires and other more hidden mechanics. He was 17 years old. Though he was the oldest, I was the tallest. His skin was slightly tan and he had bright blue eyes.
Carter was the same age as me. We were both 16 years old. Carter was best with dispenser-like traps. I was better with piston-based traps. Carter actually resembled Ethan at one point, but now he looked a lot different. He was shorter than Ethan, his skin was pale, and his eyes were brown and not blue.
"So we're going together, Lee?" Carter asked.
"Yep, all three of us," I said. We all packed tons of food and amazing gear. I brought a water bucket for easy clean-up. We wouldn't be back for a week at the very least. The mountain was very high.
After about a day, we finally reached the base of the mountain and set up camp. In the distance I saw some creepers, but we had built an obsidian layer around the shelter. Nothing would damage it.
I woke up to moaning the next morning. A zombie was about to kill Ethan. I took out my sword and stabbed it right through its decayed heart. It dropped to the ground dead. Ethan and Carter woke up at that moment.
"What happened?" Ethan asked. He then noticed the dead zombie on the floor and smiled. "You're always there in a pinch."
We disassembled the base and began our climb up the mountain. I don't want to bore you with our large climb, but there was one thing that stood out. About halfway up, we stumbled upon a cave. Inside it was a piece of Nether Quartz. It glew with a blue light.
I picked it up and put it in my pocket. There was something special about this bit of quartz. We continued our climb. Right after we had finished the last of our first half of food, we reached the top. There, a strange man was. One of his eyes was swollen and was an unnatural red.
His other eye remained blue. He looked old, but had no beard or grey hairs. His body was an irregular shape and he walked in shaky steps.
"Um..." Carter said, "We're here for the Redstoner's Test."
The man spoke in a rhyme that went like this:
You heroes stay young
While I stay old
I am cursed forever
On this mountain cold
For what you want
Is not what you need
Because you are wrong
I am not the one you seek
My whole life I have
wanted only one thing
A small gem so I
can put it in this ring
That's when I noticed the small gold ring on his finger. I noticed that it looked like there was supposed to be a jewel in there. The jewel I had found would fit inside it perfectly.
"I think I have it," I said, tossing it over to him. As if by magic, the jewel put itself into the ring. All of a sudden, the man transformed. He grew in size and black wings came out from his back. In his hand, a white sword appeared.
The man spoke once again in a rhyme:
Don't you realize
that you are a fool?
For this is the
start of my rule
You have given me life
You have given me power
Now it is time to say your prayers
For these moments are you final hour
He flew towards me. I ducked and rolled to my left. Ethan and Carter took out their swords. They tried fighting, but the man seemed invincible. The man charged at me again, grabbing me. He put his right hand forward and a portal opened up in front of us.
I managed to get out of his grip. I still fell through the portal. The portal lead above the pit of lava. The man landed on the edge. I landed on a small ledge right over the lava. Here we get to my near-death situation,
I could feel the tension rising. The man slowly approached me, smiling with an evil grin. I had nothing left do except jump.
Then it hit me. My water bucket! I place it down and slowly went down to the lava. The entire pool turned to obsidian. I noticed an opening to cave at the end of the pool. I ran into it, walking down. An old fishing rod lay there. It was broken, but it made me realize what I had to do.
I turned around to see the man darting in. He was just about to bring down his sword and kill me when I jumped and grabbed his arm. I took the ring off his finger. He reverted back to his original state instantly.
"Huh," I said, "Looks like being a redstoner isn't all that important."
Minecraft is a product by Mojang. I in no way take credit for this game or concepts from it. I however, hog absolutely all credit for my stories.
About that, where I live in the Philippines, my mom found this thing on this Facebook: Someone needs Filipino Writers to write short stories from about 3,000 to 5,000 words from age 45 and below. Deadline is on June 30 or something. I am getting my ideas, writer's block, fail me now! Get it?
What about a man who's soul becomes corrupt with evil and becomes the servant of Lord Herobrine, an Enderman? Just speaking aloud and yes, I am aware all your stories are owned by you.

Perhaps. Though it counters my first one, it could work...

His other eye remained blue. He looked old, but had no beard or grey hairs. His body was an irregular shape and he walked in shaky steps.
"Um..." Carter said, "We're here for the Redstoner's Test."
The man spoke in a rhyme that went like this:
That's when I noticed the small gold ring on his finger. I noticed that it looked like there was supposed to be a jewel in there. The jewel I had found would fit inside it perfectly.
"I think I have it," I said, tossing it over to him. As if by magic, the jewel put itself into the ring. All of a sudden, the man transformed. He grew in size and black wings came out from his back. In his hand, a white sword appeared.
