I'm sort of a whore for texture packs and had like 15 of them at one point. And for the last couple of months I've been combining them so I could have my favorite bits from various ones all in one pack. Which worked well with the ones I liked which usually had simpler cartoonier designs: Frenden, Sinecraft, Cubecraft, Cleancraft, Splixel, Tronic, Painterly, Zelda etc etc list goes on forever.

Long boring story short, I got tired of editing other peoples stuff and I decided to finally do something I've been itching to do for a bit more than a year now. I decided to make my own texture pack. While I assumed it would be alot of work editing several dozen 16x16 pixel squares, I didn't anticipate HOW much. Anyway almost 8 hours later and it was done, I was happy, and I decided the best way to celebrate would be to show it off like a big ol jackass and then completely forget to update it whenever Mojang adds new blocks.

So here you go guys. Another simple-style cartoony texture pack to add to the overflowing heap of them that are all over this forum. If some of you end up liking it, feel free to leave a comment. If you hate it, wellp, haters gonna hate? What do you want from me? WHAT?

Anyway here:

http://www.mediafire...8bss1rdw2vap2vv

"how can we trust such a suspicious link? What is this 'mediafire' witchcraft you spurn upon us?"

Fear not. I come bearing screenshots that were a massive pain in the ass to take.

for starters i redid the crops so they are very colorful until they reach maturity where they turn brown
Posted Image

a ladder near some netherrack and a portal to hell or if this were an anime "the shadow realm"
also present, cobble and it's mossy cousin
Posted Image

a pig gettin his ham on.
Posted Image

a chicken gettin his cluck on.
Posted Image

a failed attempt at a rollercoaster. that is the wood door
Posted Image
redid the minecart so it looked less speckly
Posted Image

cloth walls. wood floor. glass. stove. pig.
Posted Image

more of the cloth walls and wood floor. crafting table and chest. bed with creeper blankie.
Posted Image

a view of the outside world. plus worlds crappiest cave.
Posted Image

"bra, i am so crunk'd"
"dude i donno what that means gimme a hit"
"anyone seen lewis?"
"yeah some dude grabbed him and shoved a torch in his ass. sorry bro"
Posted Image

squids are now cute as opposed to being eldritch horrors from beyond the stars
Posted Image

Everyones favorite enemy: the creeper. Aww lookit that lil' face. He just wants to play videogames with you, man.
Fun Fact: I died 5 times trying to get a decent pic of a creeper. YOU'RE WELCOME.
Posted Image

UPDATE MARCH 11TH
the inventory screen where you craft 2x2 recipes and keep track of yo' mad loots
Posted Image

the 3x3 crafting table. the very heart of this game and most important thing to bring with you on caves. next to torches at least.
Posted Image

the furnace. because there's nothing wrong with cooking food in the same place you smelt minerals into weaponry
(a fiery arrow comes out the vent!)
Posted Image

the dispenser. it dispenses justice on evildoers such as: pigs, cows, sheep, maybe enemies sometimes
Posted Image

remember when I said I was going to make custom lava and water? wellp. here you go. take note: you need to patch these in to make them work properly.
i also made new smoke effects which came out quite cute. you can barely see them in this image.
Posted Image
WATER! now no longer navy blue and impossible to see through!
Posted Image

Zombie Pigman! Someone told him a joke and now he's in stitches. several_bad_puns_later.jpg
Posted Image

Spider have been totally reskinned from the ground up to look more like a jungle spider and less like a tarantula.
I also made it so their little fangs/mandibles stick out. D'aaawwww. damnit notch let us ride spiders with saddles they would be the best pets why do skeletons get to have all the fun. anyway here is a spider hanging out with a swine of the hoggish persuasion.
Posted Image
Oh and that skull on his abdomen lights up at night when he flies into RAGE MODE.
Posted Image

now just random pics from various enviroments

A wild herd of fences. They startle easily.
Posted Image

Hey look! What's that light grey stuff? It's everyone's favorite block! GRAVEL. Can't get enough of that gravel!
Posted Image

A tunnel of spookyness.
Posted Image

Splish splash, I was taking a bath
Long about a Saturday night
A rub dub, just relaxing in the tub
Thinking everything was alright
Posted Image

Boneman is sad. HE IS ONLY BONES.
Posted Image

Fucking moochers.
Posted Image

"Wish You Were Here."
Posted Image

There's a record player with only dubstep songs behind this door.
Posted Image

A gaggle of slimes who giggle over gossip
Posted Image

And now as a special bonus to those who decide to patch this pack in so it can have custom water and lava you also get......my super special happy genki excite fun time things nice biome pack! holy shit! But what does it DO?

Basically, I was really tired of the fact that all the trees in this game come in 3 colors: green, dark green, and olive green. Trees in reality come in a pretty big variety of colors so I decided to remedy that! BEHOLD, more leaf colors!

Oh and uh one final note here, Andy's birthday party has been moved to today. Oh and also I added

MARCH 25th update - a nice chap named XSSheep showed me how to edit the grass biome color scheme
so now grass is more colorful and patchy then ever! breaking up the monotony of perfect gradients! and helping drive home the "grass is now a quilt instead of plants what has science done" thing that's going on here.

Updated with:

- animals all now have custom skins
- obsidian is now no longer neon friggin purple
- made the gui for crafting and smelting prettier
- made skeletons and zombies a bit more detailed
- customized alot of the ingame icons
- reskinned signs, minecarts, boats
- made wood a bit brighter
- made tools of different materials have unique models. each different from the others.
- edited the armor graphics to all be unique when placed on your character
- made grass a bit brighter
- made cloth looks a bit nicer
- Ghasts are now pink and sickly and light up when they fire

By the way I know everyone claims that water and lava are hardcoded in, but I've seen people change their graphics. HOW do I do this. I want to make cool lava.
Not that I'm expecting an answer I don't think anyone cares about this thread other than me!
If Notch ever adds wildgrass support officially, I will totally make some for that.

I'm in love with this pack. Very well fitting in Minecraft, and cartoony and simplistic without just taking 3 colors for each texture. Also I must know the song in the video.

Updated the original post with screens of reskinned animals and updated the old screenshots with new obsidian and minecarts.

Thank you! There's alot of simple textures out there and other than Frenden's most of them aren't very colorful. They just resample a bit of the realistic textures hues and sort of cover the blocks with them. So I wanted to remedy that with something sort of seussian with bit of a tribal theme.

I really wish I could edit lava and water.

As for the song: Ratatat - Bare Feast
Very cool band who make sort of funky synthesized sitar music with lots of weird sound effects.

My face is that of a young lamb, that has become separated from it's mother. It wanders the fields lost and alone in the pouring rain until it finds itself clattering on what we unmistakably would identify as a train track. It's jaw hangs agape and it's small eyes gleam, reflecting a bright white light that is hurtling directly at it's fragile body. A loud sound blasts the air, shattering the silence with black clouds of soot hurling around it, and the lamb stands transfixed, so fascinated yet terrified at the oncoming train that all it can do is stare at the inevitable death with a face transfixed in an expression of horror, confusion, and disbelief.

In short: wat!?

Very nice texture pack. Just when I thought Minecraft couldn't get any more blocky and cartoony you hold before my face this delicious pie that is your texture pack. Also you made me laugh.

Ahg, nevermind, it still works. I love the way the mobs look like they were "woven" together.

I too have no idea what it is that you are talking about. I'm using some of my smart jooz and assuming that you are speaking of a RAR file, since that is the format in which most Texture packs come in, neatly packed and caramel covered for all the lazy people. :P

Cool pack concept! A few things I noticed:
- Sand is blinding as a motherfucker - please tone it down!
- Dirt and wood need more distinction; maybe some more vertical gashes in the tree trunk?
- The GUI is a bit funky. I'd appreciate more variation/neutral color (or maybe just transparency) in the character inventory screen though... I have a darker character skin and it's difficult to see my dude because of the pitch black background.
- Item designs! We need your fun cartoony character in the items as well.
- Custom water/lava (I know you said you'd work on that)

Well done so far. It's not perfect but I really enjoy the overall character. Keep it up.

Thanks!

Also I updated the original post with some pictures of Wildgrass.

And I used the vanilla GLSL mod that makes faraway and upclose things get all blurry.
If anyone could give me some quick info on how to get celshading or wavinggrass working with the new version of the mod, that'd be great. Because apparently I have no idea what I'm doing with all the crazy errors I'm getting!

Holy Crap Zekey, I loved you back in the Albino Black Sheep days, and I'm extremely glad to see you've begun to snort a little of the Minecrack. Seriously, I'm a huge fan, and 'Mass' was easily my favorite flash on Albino Black Sheep.

Begun? Oh I've been playing this thing since before alpha was around! I only just recently decided to try and reskin it.
Glad to see someone who is a fan of my animations. I work for Weebl of weebls-stuff.com these days. A very fun job which I'm lucky to have. I've been working on a little animated short film for about 4 years now. It'll probably be on AlbinoBlackSheep whenever it gets done. If it ever gets done.
I also recently did some art for Mojang (the chaps who make this game) which I can't really talk about yet.

Anyway enough of me talking about myself.

Small update guys, but not to the pack itself so you dont need to worry about downloading yet another zip file.

I redid the youtube video advertisement for this pack entirely. Since I've changed it all so much since the original release it would be idiotic of me to leave the video as it was. It's was so inaccurate. Quite a clusterfuck. So the old video is out and I'm putting the new one in the original post. It's blurry as all hell right now (gee thanks youtube!) but I'm praying as hard as I can to Azathoth that it will be fixed soon.

I should really stop bumping my own thread for no raisin.

I felt pretty awesome when I saw that Minecraft fan-art picture that you did and was able to recognize that it was a picture by you based on the art style alone :P It's also pretty damn awesome that you got a got working with weeble.
