Are there desert temple schematics somewhere?
I want to put one near my village as a base (yes, I know, many people have done that or something like that),
and a layer-by-layer plan would simplify that very much.

If there isn't I will have to make one as I go along. (And if I come around to it I will upload it)

MC Edit would be your friend in this endeavor.

With it you can either copy and paste using the editor or you can extract the temple and determine the floor plan through it.

I don't know of any schematics or blueprints but the wiki has a bunch of really good pictures including a couple of a desert temple free floating in the sky so you can see the shaft. I don't know if it will help you any but...

They're nine blocks tall and twenty one blocks wide. The door and towers are more complex to build. They're eleven blocks tall and and five blocks wide. The third block on each row at the top is a staircase. Keep the first row in on the top of the tower empty(1o blocks tall) but a small lump 1 extra block. I might have worded that akwardly so look at a picture for reference.
