It's been requested, and its on my list somewhere - doesn't mean it will make the cut though. If only it were as simple as rotating the current block.
The idea is to maintain the bed look. Covering the mattress, pillow, or blanket would just be silly. Yeah, mattresses may have fun colored covers on them irl, but I like the level of detail the current bed has. I may add new styles later.

I also would like to say that I have finished combing over the mod and would like to say the many improvements are quiet fascinating, however it would be a bit more improved if we could change the glass coloration on the door designs.

It uses standard gold and silver block textures. The only texture that is provided is a base pattern that is colored for the lights. What you're suggesting is more along the lines of a new safe style. I'll think about it.

I like that piston idea. I think most of the redstone machines would be awesome with custom skins. Maybe bookshelves too (bonus points for making them like the one in the old Enhanced Books mod)?
Is it possible to, or would it ever be possible to, change the color of the glass on Carpenter's Doors when they are on a model with windows? My houses that use Carpenter's Doors usually have stained glass, either from a mod or from minecraft itself, and the plain glass kind of clashes. I usually just switch it to the model without windows/screens, I think the one right before the secret door, which works but it'd be nice to have other options.
I constantly am accidentally putting seeds on my doors because i tend to hold seeds while farming. Is it possible to make that a Shift-Click thing only? Or has that been changed already? (the modded server i go on uses an older version of the mod so i dont know if it was changed yet or not)
My game crashes when ever i walk on top of any of the blocks from this mod, the only way i can fix my world by moving my Player is w/ MCEdit or else i just crash as soon as i enter the world.

Hi newbie to forum but not to minecraft. i was just wondering cause i use archemides ship mod for 1.7.10 and this mod seems to have the same rotation problem with it as it does with machine mods. so i was wondering is there a good workaround or will it have to be coded into carpenters block mod

The Carpenter's Bed handles dye colors differently than the other blocks in this mod. To dye the frame of the bed, apply the dye to the head of the bed. To dye the standard blanket color, apply the dye to the foot of the bed.
If that's too bland for your liking, let's explore bed designs. Left- or right-click the Carpenter's Bed with the Carpenter's Hammer to cycle backwards or forwards through a collection of custom bed designs. This will alter the pillow and blanket of the bed.
You can add your own bed designs by dropping your textures into the mod zip file at: assets/carpentersblocks/textures/blocks/designs/bed/
In there, you will find a template folder that contains sample images you can use to create your own design. Once done, your designs will automatically be available the next time you start the game.
Make sure you're using the required version of Forge, at least. Then make sure the designs loaded up properly by checking the logs (it only print's a single line of debug code, just do a quick search).
