This is what I don't get, right?
As of the 25th Feburary, 1,393,209 people have purchase the game, at roughly $15 each. ( I know it hasn't always been that. )
But for argument sake, it has. So that's $20,898,135 (roughly) that has been made all together.
Now, if Mojang were to invest $100,000 to get 50,000 creeper plush toys made which is dirt cheap, they could sell them for $25 a pop to every nerdy Minecraft fan out there, and make another $1,250,000.
Obviously they would sell more, considering almost one and a half MILLION people have purchased the game.
This is some serious cash they'd be making, and keeping ALL of their loyal fans happy.
I'd do it myself if it wasn't breaking copyright.

It would definitely be a smart financial move.

Also, I know somebody is going to make a comment about hugging a soft green penis.
To each their own, I guess..

Even if it weren't to sell, ( which I'm sure it would, ahah! ), What's $100,000 out of $20,000,000!

That would cost a lot more and not generate as much profit. But still a good idea!

You realize that they probably don't have $20,000,000, right? They have to pay for food, computers, etc like everyone else.

Regardless, the average person earns $50,000 - $70,000 a year.
I'm sure they're doing much better off than most.

Yeah, think of all the pigs they must have bought with that cash so they can make pork chops.

That and paypal doesn't give them all the money and swedish taxes takes some. They probabl have around 9 million.

Btw, this doesn't belong in Beta - Surival Mode it belongs in discussion >.>

Yes, he was pretty successful. Mostly since this community is made of 12 year old kids who can't control themselves.

I highly doubt that over 1/2 of their money would have been taxed.

And yes it does. Creepers are in Survival Mode, are they not? :)

I was only kidding when I suggested this idea a month ago. Washable plush mob toys that contain treats or toys inside velcro pockets in their bodies. Reusable and repurposable in a wide variety of ways: hand puppets, christmas ornaments, pet beds, gift receptacles/wrappings, pillows and bedding.

At this time the only way to make them cost-effective as a mass market item is to contract out with a global toy manufacturer, one which has access to shops and mills in third world countries.

Of course, if you live in Mauritius or El Salvador or China, this may provide you with a hilarious job opportunity.

Assembling creeper patterns for stitching in a machine and secretly inserting an M-80 inside randomly chosen ones.

In reality though, this would take Mojang's focus away from making games. Invariably, contracting this out would take some time and effort and money away from good games. This would also offend the sensibilities of some people who think it's bad to support sweatshop labour in the garment and toy industry, or mass appeal to the unwashed, or caving in to the sentimental creeper-huggers and *gasp* parents and girlfriends.

You could also go the euro-boutique route, and a single creeper plush might wind up costing $70-100 US. For hidden toys and/or treats, expect a higher price because these items would have to comply with Eurosphere laws about child safety. Would you pay $125 for a 12" long velvet green shlong with cinnamon gummi dynamite inside?

I might. If I had that kind of money. Because I know someone who would appreciate it more than $125 spent in a variety of other ways. But a lot of people here will outgrow Minecraft, or get bored of it, or move on to other things in life. The appeal of a $25 novelty item is a lot higher to these transient players than the appeal of a $125 novelty item.

Thats why you do preorders so you can use the cash from preorder to generate the item and fill them.

You could even make 2 versions.  One regular plush for around $25 and a deluxe one that has a proimity detector that makes the hiss and explode sound for around $50.

I know these types of things would sell at video game and anime conventions.  Heck, people spend their parents money on much less useful stuff then that.

They should just make the Creeper their official Mascot.
