Hey guys, I was messing around with the new snapshot today and managed to catch all 35 variants of the horses (plus a donkey and a mule).  According to the wiki, there are 7 base colors of horses: "gray, dapple gray, dark bay, bay, flaxen chestnut, buckskin, and black," and 5 additional patterns: "no markings, stockings, snowflake appaloosa, pinto, and black blanket."  Here's a screenshot and the world download if anyone's interested:

Not too long lol, probably like 30-45 minutes of spawning, taming, and organizing.  The grey horse was pretty difficult though.. most of the markings are white and almost impossible to see.

A mule is a donkey-horse hybrid.

Let me Google that for you.

Nice job. Do they all have different stats or does color/pattern even matter?

Oh gosh.  I am really bad with horse markings IRL, so I was just calling them things like big spots, little spots, black spot, etc :P  But I've checked the wiki and I think I've got it now.

From top to bottom, the base colors are buckskin, dark bay, black, flaxen chestnut, bay, dapple grey, and grey.

From left to right, the markings are no markings, pinto, stockings, snowflake appaloosa, and black blanket.

Honestly I didn't even test that.  I'm not really sure how I would go about testing the horses' speeds, but I guess I could figure out jump height.  I did notice while maneuvering them into place that some could definitely jump higher than others, but that's about it :/  Sorry!  You're welcome to download the world and see for yourself though :)

I think The_Parkchop wants to know, what's the difference between donkey and mule in Minecraft. I'm curious about it too. Is mule faster, stronger, etc.?

In minecraft it's slightly faster than a donkey and has ALOT more health (might be a bug), also unlike horses they can wear chests like donkeys.

That mule seems worth it. It is a good way to get more chest animals without having to find two donkeys

I can't get the buckskin horse with no markings. How did you get it?

How can you tell the difference between the plain black horse and the sooty black horse?

Hey,
not everyone knows that but there are two more horse designs in the game. The zombie and skeleton horses. Only available with the help of external tools tho.

Cool shot! I like it when I breed my two white horses and get something really wild, like a solid red, a dark brown paint, or a dapple grey.Posted Image
