Animated Player

By thehippomaster21

Fixed some bugs and updated. Redownload the newest AnimationAPI!

Posted Image
Do you love Minecraft's default animations? Are you obsessed with the way the Minecraft player looks and acts? Do you wish Minecraft's player would forever look the same way? Well if you do, then this isn't the mod for you!

Posted Image
After countless hours of working (it wasn't that long), Professor HippoMaster now introduces to you the Animated Player Mod! This mod completely replaces and reanimates the player model by adding more joints and better animations. Also, it's completely client-based, which means it works for servers too (just don't install it into the server)!

Now with rounded curves (in test)!

Currently this mod replaces animations for walking, running, swimming, jumping, sneaking, riding, bow-aiming, blocking, climbing, hitting, eating, and drinking!

Face Expression
Posted Image
The player now has his own face! It has the following features that can be configured. Check out the custom textures section for more information on configuring. This features:
Posted Image Moving eyes depending on where the player is looking.
Posted Image Opening mouth when the player is panting.
Posted Image Eyebrows that become sad when hungry and confident/angry when aggressive!

Posted Image
Hats now render each pixel individually to make it look better! This can be toggled in the config file. (Still a bit buggy)

Other Screenshots

Custom Textures
Check out DalekSlayer's Skin Library for animated-player-supported skins!
Feel free to contribute by writing on his page as well, and remember to thank him!

Your own textures work with the mod too! Just color in the right areas specified below, then upload your texture to minecraft.net! However, if you want to change your offline player look, check out the features inside the configuration file in .minecraft/config/AnimatedPlayer.cfg.

Compatibility and Bugs
This mod works with other mods such as RenderPlayerAPI mods, but if you use both, you will only see the model from this mod.
Posted Image Hats stick out of helmets! O:

Q: The game crashes with with java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: mods.AnimatedPlayer.AnimatedPlayer. What do I do?
A: Don't extract the zip file! Put the whole zip into the mods folder.

Q: Can you update the mod to the latest minecraft version?
A: If the mod isn't already updated, that means I'm working on it. Please don't bother me telling me to update.

Q: Can I make a texture pack that supports your mod?
A: Of course! Go ahead Posted Image

Q: Can I create a video of your mod?
A: Of course! Go ahead Posted Image

Q: Can I make a modpack with your mod inside?
A: If it's a private modpack, go ahead. Please don't use this in public modpacks and don't PM me asking for permission.

Posted Image  Locate .minecraft
>> Posted Image Click Start and type %appdata% into the Search area
>> Posted Image Click the folder that is called Roaming
>> Posted Image Find the folder inside called .minecraft
Posted Image  Move the mod jar/zip file to .minecraft/mods (DO NOT EXTRACT unless you're admiring my files)
Posted Image  Play!

It's compatible, but you won't be able to see the animations in the Smart Moving mod

Did I help you? If I did, Up my comment!

How about randomly (or even non randomly!) moving mouth when the player posts a message (or even types it!) in chat (possibly based on legth of it?)?

Or briefly opening the mouth when hurt?

Or even having "emotions" triggered with text commands?

Some ideas for ya :]

That's interesting :D Maybe I'll try that out!

Did you use the same software to create the animations for both this and Mutant Creatures?
Modest Texturer, Modeler, and Idea Provider. Can someone buy me Terraria, Borderlands 2, Goat Simulator, or Dead Island? Check my Profile for my contents, which includes a(n outdated) texture pack and a mod request!

Very well done! But how does this look on other player skins, for example... if your player is not a human? And maybe an optiond for pointed teeth (like sharp, canines)

Hey! Looks really nice. I only have one suggestion. It would look really nice if you could change the elbows and knees so that the actually bend, instead breaking.

This is one really epic mod worth trying it :) I wonder is it compatible with Better animations collection revived mod?  That would be awesome :D Does it also work on other player skins like not on steves ? Anyway really nice mod! It can grow to a really succesful one!!!

Posted 12 April 2013 - 11:42 AM

I don't use a software, I create my models and animations in code :)

Thanks! I've created the texture in a way that people can make their textures in similar ways, and it will work. I'll explain more about it in a bit

I wanted that too :P but unfortunately minecraft models only have blocks. Maybe if I can find a way to override that, then I can make connected legs and arms. for now, they'll be separeted tho :/ sorry
