I don't have any modding skills. At all. But I do have plenty of ideas for this dimension, so if someone wants to make it they can even take all of the credit with no complaints from me. I'd just love to have it.
Mobs;
-T-Rex
-Velociraptor
-Any other commonly known dinosaurs
-Massive crocodiles
-Massive sharks (Megalodon; passive until hit, spends most of its time at the surface so you can use it as a temporary mini island)
-Giant, flat lobster (Jaekelopterus rhenaniae; 2 people long)
-Giant snakes
-Platybelodons (Elephants with duck bill like trunks, google it.)
-Long legged crocodiles (Think dog meets crocodile.)
-Azhdarchidae (Giraffe sized bird)
-Alternative villages full of cavemen, chests contain weapons and dinosaur parts (Not the beak)
There're plenty more mobs that could be added, but I wouldn't want to overload the game.
Weapons;
-Crossbow (More damage than normal bow. Useable underwater if possible)
-Throwing spear (More damage than crossbow, but not enchantable and poor distance) (Only made from dinosaur parts)
-Machete (More damage than sword. Shorter reach if possible)
-Elephant Gun (Very powerful, but bullets would be expensive. I do have a recipe in mind)
Items;
-Dinosaur teeth
-Dinosaur bones
-Dinosaur scales
-Dinosaur meat/steak
-Dinosaur beak (from the massive bird. May be used as a decoration)
-Fossils (ore block in overworld and prehistoric dimension)
-Dinosaur claws
-Fossil and bone used as decorations
-'Dusting' table; would 'smelt' fossils into whatever part they resemble. Fossil blocks could be placed together to form a dinosaur skeleton.
-Fossil brush
-Dinosaur scale armor
-Dinosaur teeth/claws weapons
-Eggs used as trophy or for a hatch-able dinosaur pet. Collected by right clicking, but taking the egg would cause the parent dinosaur to attack you if they're nearby, looking at you or not.
-Beak sword or helmet.
Etc;
-New ferns
-New trees
-Orange tinted sky
-Dinosaur nests (Abandon nests would have cobwebs in them and may be collected after the cobweb is removed)
-Above ground caves
The portal would be made out of fossil ore blocks and lit like a nether portal.
Obviously the dinosaurs would be incredibly dangerous, but one dinosaur steak would fill the hunger bar, giving a new challenge for the more advanced players or those who have gotten really far in their world (Full armor, extra ores etc.)
Obviously any other items/weapons/drops/ores you can suggest can be added to the list, but someone needs to make this happen.
IDEA UPDATE;
-The giant lobster mob would drop 'lobster meat'.
-Snakes kill smaller mobs. If you spawn cows, chickens etc the snake would kill them. I feel this would make a fun challenge to living in this dimension.
-The 'elephant' could be tamed and used as a mount, similar to how mo' creatures handles elephants/mammoths.
-Hatched long legged crocodile also useable as a mount.
-Cavemen villagers have different classes; Hunter, warrior, gatherer (Apples, wheat, seeds etc.), and general. They would be color organized like normal villagers. If attacked, only warriors and hunters would fight back because only they have weapons.
-Giant lobster tamed and breedable for lobster farms (Speaking of which, why don't other mods have this?)
-Octopus mob! http://www.tonmo.com/images/content/Octpic2.PNG Like a normal octopus, but those adorable fins on their heads. Would be uncommon by default and non-tameable.
-Velociraptors only spawn at night and break down doors like zombies.
-Ores from the main world exist underground the same as usual with the exception of coal, which wouldn't exist in this dimension.
-Different biomes; Ocean, swamp, plains, jungle, and forest. No desert.
-Meteor pits of varying sizes. If you could program meteor showers that kill off mobs that would be incredible, but not mandatory. It would also break down your house unless the roof was obsidian (Or for creative mode, bedrock.)
-Water levels would naturally decrease over time, but refill during rain to simulate flooding. (Also not mandatory, but it would be cool.)
-Volcanos (Don't need to be active, just mountains with lava throughout that you wouldn't want to mine into.)
The thing is, it's called prehistoric dimension not dinosaur dimension because I don't really want the focus on dinosaurs. I was hoping to include all the awesome versions of current animals that were alive back then. I'm not so much a 'dinosaur' person as a large and odd looking animal person. Thank you though, I'll keep that in case I do want a bunch of dinosaurs sometime. I'm not trying to be rude, that just isn't quite what I'm looking for. Sorry.
