I love how none of us noticed the number of reply's to this topic. To this I must say congrats friends, we've reached a great milestone. Let's continue for 15000 more.
Thanks Drago I infact done both of the things you said before I saw your comment, anyway here is an updated picture: (Ignore the placed wool... I always do that to plan areas)
That intersection is probably the best one I've ever seen. (Sorry CFG)

I have a question:
Is it possible to make villagers overlook general data values of items by attaching lore to the items for trade, or otherwise? For example, I want villagers to trade stuff in exchange for mob skulls; different trades for each specific skull (basic data value is 397; data values of 397:1 or 397:2 make no difference from what I have seen). I've tried adding lore and that does not seem to work
If you have any solutions, please let me know. Also, if this has been addressed in a recent pre-release, let me know plz!
Next update i think they're changing it so villagers recognize meta data.

I've had this problem too with currency in my current map; the only solution I've seen thus far is adding an enchantment to it, something like Unbreaking or Power to make it have a different value than the other items. Of course, this depends on the item you're wanting to use. Hope I helped!

Which version is that? I thought they made villagers recognize damage values in one of the recent snapshots (14w04a or something like that).
How I really obtain inspiration:
1) Recreate scene in Minecraft.
2) Add bedrock ceiling. Remove all the grass and water. Add cave spawners and enderman spawners.
3) You've just made yourself a clone of Forestmen.
But yeah, that's the main reason I'm stuck. I was thinking of making a two-wool minimap with a twist, but I can't think of any area ideas for it. The first one's going to be a zombie dungeon and the second one a spider dungeon. Help? And it has to be balanced wrt the stuff in the spoiler.
You have negative jump boost and 1/2 heart on UHC mode, and a one-hit sword.

Celebratory 15000 posts Community question:
Which of the following do you think is the most crucial for your survival in a CTM map?
1. Potions.
2. Enchantments.
3. Armor.
4. Weapons.
5. Food (Notch apples not included).
6. Other (please specify what).
Personally, I'd have to say weapons. Even if you have an infinite strength 2 potion and prot 4 diamond armor without a good weapon you can hardly do anything.

This vid shows the concept. With recent additions you can use /blockdata instead of /testforblock.
And yeah, new villagers recognize data values, but they don't recognize lores (Not sure about that).

I'm gonna go against the grain and say #6: Other. By other, I'm referring to strategy. All the enchanted armor, weapons, and potions in the world won't do you any good if you bum-rush a void area with punch-bow skellies. Strategy is essential to playing a CTM map well, as it dictates how you take on those areas that just can't be beaten by brute force. Tunneling, bridging, and cryboxing are the more defensive strategies in a CTM-player's arsenal, and generally the ones that most consistently bring success to the player. Strafing, sprint-critting, and blocking are offensive strategies, and equally important for a CTM-player to know.

I would have to say food. Food is essential for survival and should be carefully managed by mapmakers.

Hey there, all. I stream CTMs as well as other indie games, Minecraft servers and probably that's it. I'm your supreme overlord too so I command you to CHECK ME OUT: www.twitch.tv/techniclepanther

Ah jeez... I dunno...
I would have to say either Armor or other blocks. I had an epiphany the other day while playing Septum Immoriel that with the right combination of blocks, you can kill all the mobs you like if you're careful. Then again, I'm a noob CTM player, so don't take my word for it

There's a simple answer for this, so i choose 6. Wood is the single most important resource in a ctm map. Without it you cannot make crafting tables, tools...really anything because it makes a crafting table. And when i say this i mean wood products like sticks, crafting tables, planks etc. not specifically logs and trees. Still, saplings are very important as well.

After you play my map, please re-think this answer.
So in 14w07b my invisible vines which I loved became pink-black checker texture >_>
#disappointed
I also made Stormguard Sanctum (Tomb from TR'13) in Minecraft.. vid coming.
You'll see. If I remember correctly you were one of the people who volunteered for beta testing (if you weren't, sorry). My map "should" enter beta the next week. If something goes horribly wrong, then it may get postponed.

Ooh, it looks nicer. I think the only change I notice is that there is more stalactites of ice. But other than that, it still looks good.

Why? Is like wood scarce in your map?
