I am a fan of user-generated adventures and I've decided to try my hand at creating a map of my own. I am new to Minecraft map-making, but I have watched dozens of videos of custom levels and dungeons on YouTube, and this time I've decided to go for the popular "Complete-the-Monument" style map. I spent quite some time designing, creating, play-testing, and polishing this map until I was finally satisfied with what I'd created.
I am proud to release my first creation, called "First Dungeon". Enjoy!
1) Right-click the downloaded .zip folder.
2) Click "Extract All".
3) Select a destination to extract the files to (or just use the default location). A new folder will appear, called "First Dungeon".
For Single-Player:
4) Move or Copy the new "First Dungeon" folder into your "saves" folder (located in your ".minecraft" folder).
5) You're ready to play!
For Multiplayer:
4) Open the new "First Dungeon" folder. You'll see several files (such as level.dat, session.lock, etc).
5) Move or Copy all of the files into your Minecraft server's "world" folder.
6) Run your server. You're ready to play!
Find the Red, Blue, and Yellow wools, and place them on the Victory Monument to win! Will you conquer the dungeon? Or will the dungeon conquer you?
Dungeon rooms to clear! Secrets to discover! Populated by naturally spawned enemies! (and occasionally a few spawners) 51 treasure chests with randomly-generated loot! Gold Nuggets treated as money! A shop to buy supplies, and sell monster drops! A reliable, fireproof, waterproof, doggie companion that regenerates health!
Playable solo or co-op with friends! No mods required. Designed for Vanilla Minecraft!

Your feedback is highly valued. After playing the map, please take a moment to post a comment about what your thoughts are so I can have a better idea of what I should (or shouldn't) do in my next map. The best kind of feedback however, would be a "Let's Play" video of you playing the map, because then I could truly see how a person completely unfamiliar with the map plays it (without already knowing the layout and the secrets).
This map looks really neat! Looking forward to playing! Would you be interested in doing a LP of your map with Pokefan203, Digifan203 and I?
Thanks! But I would prefer not to participate, since I made the dungeon. I wouldn't want to give away any secrets or hints, either directly or indirectly. Also, my computer isn't good enough to support Minecraft and a recording program at the same time, so someone else would have to record.
I am VERY interested however, in seeing what kind of experience you and your friends have with this dungeon.

No worries I was going to record but if you don't want to participate that's fine. I personally like playing with the creators just because it makes it more interesting
I just played your map. It took me a good two hours: I wasn't looking for a terrible challenge, and this map surprised me. I didn't died even once trough the whole map, but I enjoyed it. Maybe a suggestion would be to avoid the diamond stuff since it makes the game too easy. Also I didn't expected the wool to be just hidden, I thought it would be guarded by something; maybe in the next dungeong the wool may be n some difficult rooms. If I may I would like to rate the map:
1) Dimension: 6/10
2) Fun 9/10
3) Loot 6/10 (it was too much for a single person compared to the dimension of the dungeon and the challenge)
4) Difficulty 4/10 (walked trough really, excepted the victory monument room, challenging )
To resume it wasn't neither long nor difficult, but I had a lot of fun doing it.
The exchanging system was really cool, but maybe superfluous for such a small map. It allowed me to get the enchanting table though
i thought it was awesome and its calle a start and its his first one so but i loved it

Excellent. Thank you for the feedback!
I actually had all of the chests (except the Player Kits) randomly generated, but I suspected I might have the probabilities for diamond stuff set too high. For my next map, I might have the wools in plain view but heavily guarded, like you said.
Thank you for your suggestions! I voted your reputation up.
Hey I played the map, honestly I think it was fun but like others said it needs a little more difficulty. Diamonds shouldn't be that easy to get and wool should be guarded with mobs and traps, not just hidden. Other than that I really enjoyed the map! Hope to see more in the future!
Thanks for the comment. I will definitely make the next map harder and give less generous loot.
I appreciate you coming back to post. I'll vote your reputation up.

I would love to get some support on my new channel and some constructive criticism for how to improve!

Hey coltman! Thanks for the reply. I'm glad to hear you liked the dungeon.
Thanks,

The next dungeon will be bigger, having more rooms, challenges, and more wools to find.
