Sword of the Ancients
-----------------------------------
Plot
----------------
A brave young adventurer, Steve, is called upon by the elder of Castle Town to seek out the 6 Redstone Keys from across the land of Akea to open the way into the Temple of the Ancients, which protects a mystical blade which is thought to be the only weapon able to kill the evil mage Galanor, who seeks to revive an ancient Demon King to bring upon the apocalypse.
Gameplay
----------------
The map's main objective is to go across the land to find the 6 dungeons, each of which houses a Redstone Key. In each dungeon, there are five puzzles which, upon completion, give the player a lever to use to access the Redstone Key. These puzzles can be anything from mazes, battles, parkour or just straight-up puzzles.
This is an open world map, meaning the player can go nearly anywhere they want, and dungeons can be completed at the player's own pace, and they don't have to be completed in order, either. Monsters can also be killed and their loot exchanged for Emeralds, which can be used to purchase weapons, food, armor, and enchantment books.
Features
----------------
- 6 dungeons -
- Command Block Usage -
- Checkpoint System -
- Sidequests -
- Boss Battles -
The Land
----------------
The map is played in the kingdom of Akea, which has 6 dungeons spread throughout it, although there is an optional bonus dungeon which can be completed for Emeralds.
It should be 100% bug free, but if you do find a bug, please be sure to let me know so I can fix it! Also, feel free to make a Let's Play of this map to post here, and I'll add it to the main post. Thanks for playing!
Um I would love to beta test this thing because I love the Zelda series and you're map sounds epic!!! Some of the plot sounds familiar...wonder why Anyways, I am in college (don't really want to give away age because I am paranoid like that) but yeah dude I would love to test!!!Also, if I may give a suggestion already, but I would HIGHLY recommend checking out using command blocks as XP shops; I know emeralds are the main currency, just as an after thought.
Here's a link to a tutorial: *You can use them to enchant, get more emeralds, whatever

Okay dude can't wait!!! It sounds super legit!!Oh crap wait: did you build this on Xbox? Because I don't own an xbox to test if you do (I'm super sorry if this is the case!!!)
I don't have any voice acting planned out, sorry. :/ Maybe for a future map
Thanks!
Awesome!
Hey um do you think you could check my map? There are a couple little tweaks to make, but it is playable still. It's called The Silent Ones (it involves downloading the weeping angel mod btw) I just want to know how to improve it for reference in the future.

I've tried on countless occasions to install mods, but I can't ever get them to work. Sorry dude It looks cool based on the screenshots though!
thanks! And yeah, can't wait for the API update so you don't need to install forge or modloader anymore So what exactly do you need from 1.5?
I think all I really need are the daylight detectors. I want the gates of Castle Town to close at night, and right now I don't think there's a compact way to make that happen. Other than that, the /effect command could be cool for sidequests, and quartz blocks might be good for decoration.

I don't know if you have seen this kind of concept, but this is a automated night security system using villagers

So if you were planning on having villagers in the castle town-area, you would have a plate leading to a t-flipflop so that whenever he runs in at night, the gates would shut. When he runs out in the morning, he steps on the plate again and the gates open!

Thing is though, before I cleared them out, all of the villagers and iron golems crowded one street in castle town, and then at night all 100+ villagers crammed themselves into 3-4 houses. Since that street's a fair distance away from both the east and west gates, and 1.5 comes out next week, I figured I'd just wait it out.

Yup! On the Mojang.com page for the 1.5 pre-release it says the official launch date is March 13th, so yeah, I'm pretty excited. I'll be sending out beta builds to you guys as soon as they're ready.
