I saw this mod about a week ago.. I was a huge stargate fan. The only reason I dont use it is it seems overpowered... the stargates should lean to other planets "dimensions" and should be randomly distributed in the world.

Being able to place them at will it becomes just another (albeit cool looking) teleport mod.

The randomly placed ones should also sometimes be broke, on the main world and other worlds. That way there is some danger of getting stranded.

About the review, nice! Your voice is not annoying like a lot of youtubers. I would like to say that recipes are a big part of any mod, you cuold use chests to pre setup the crafting outlines just to give us a quick show of the things added by the mod. I mean you only used up 5 out of a normal 10+ 20 minute spotlight. This is the 5th or 6th spotlight on this mod I've seen now, yours is the 2nd shortest. You can always tell viewers where to skip to in the video to get to the nitty gritty :)

yeah v2.0 will be done soon on my map its just adding weps, hidden passages new doors, potions and crafting recipies plus i did'nt spawn two stargates in on my map so you can have an adventure

Haha, this mod made my day, when I saw the stargate cycling and making the kachunk khachunk sounds I lost my mind =P

Also very amazing detail and the interface is wicked cool. Best of wishes to the mod dev =)

It's looking pretty sweet for a pre-release, I'm definately following it: Greg's SG Craft Prerelease for Minecraft (Just noticed th OP didn't give the link to the forum thread :))

Nice Mod, but if you want to make it authentic, there are some things that are "incorrect".

First of all the "Stargate Controller" should be called "DHD" which is short for Dial Home Device, since you are using the human name "Stargate".
Then there are the death messages, the one shown in the review said "#name was torn apart by an even horizon" but technically it was a Vortex, the event horizon is the flat surface that is present AFTER the vortex discharged energy.
Next would be the problem that wormhole travel in Stargate is always one-way only, so the gate that has been dialled to shouldn't be able to teleport.
And lastly, an open womrhole automatically closes after 5 seconds without anyone or anything travelling through it, which would be a nice feature. As well as the maximum time a wormhole can be sustained, which would be 38 minutes (or 32seconds Minecraft time)
