I'm trying to think of designs for a bedroom. But, I just can't. Please post some screenshots of yours or a nice looking bedroom. Thank you a ton if you do!
I would like the bedroom to follow these guidelines, though
1. MUST be Vanilla Texture Pack!
2. No modded items introduce into the design.
3. Must have a functioning bed.
Thank you!

Can't access Minecraft atm, but here are some ideas. Put bookshelves next to the bed, to act like a bedside table, put pots with flowers ontop of the bookshelves, and throw some paintings around.

Not the best ideas, but meh xD

That seems like a nice idea but my bedroom is quite large. I'd need a bit more stuff but again, not a bad idea.

Maybe put down some stairs, and put signs on the sides to act as a chair. Also, you could make a fish tank like so, and then put trap doors around the bookshelf

Currently not finished but already in use is my main bedroom. A quite large room. You could still add some stuff here and there. I'm still working on it. Instead of ladders (which look a bit like drawers in my texture pack) you could use signs. Instead of the cobblestone you could use wool and use another picture that looks better. The room is made to be used with a TP.

This is a small double bedroom under the roof of my farm house in case I'd get some guests sometimes. It might not be helpful to you but there's some smaller ideas here, for example the couch corner.  You could put a bed in the middle of the crafting table instead of the outside.

This sounded like an interesting little challenge, so I whipped this up in creative mode. I took some of alpha's suggestions and ran with them.

A few basic things; Space is your friend, the larger you make a room, the more detail you can fit in it. Trim is a really easy way to make things look nice, and to stop your interiors from being plain boxes. And you can't have everything: fireplaces and large picture windows and walk-in closets would be nice in a bedroom too, but I decided against trying to cram them in to this design. I could of course make a bigger room, but, eh. Also, if you really want to make something cool, keep in mind that there's a rich history of architecture and interior design here in the real world, and taking a look at some of it can help your Minecraft building immensely.

I am not sure if anyone else has this problem, but I can never respawn from a bed if it is surrounded by half-slabs. The game counts it as 'Missing or Obstructed', so all I could say is to be careful.

I use this kind of bed since months and never had problems...

bedrooms, you say?

here are a few of my best ones.

This one was part of a project where I renovated a portion of a stronghold:

Here is the master bedroom in my 1800's plantation house, with four poster bed:

Another one, this time near the top of a tower attached to a mansion, built in 1930's Art Deco style:

I might as well mention this one also, which I built in the (largely empty) shell of Battersea Power Station I made:

I also do compact bedrooms, with chests in the floor and such, but have no pictures of them.
