Magic Launcher is well known and has been around for a while. It's safe.
Humanity is the creation of Logic and Emotion, Calculation and Imagination, Cold Analysis and Blind Faith. This is why I believe it is a strange Human that would prize one while shunning the other. For a calculator can do math just as well as you, but a calculator can not use math to make the world a better place.

All it does is do your mods so you don't have to, but no matter what launcher you use you'll need your minecraft info to log into their servers and what not, so it's not like they have a choice.

At its core, Magic Launcher just transfers your user data to the Mojang authentication servers so you can log in to the game. Otherwise, it would be impossible to play the game in anything other than offline mode.

I understand the skepticism about using a third party launcher, because in the past people has developed launchers that route your data to them so they can snag your log in data, but given the reputation of Magic Launcher, I doubt it's unsafe.

Yes, Magic Launcher is both safe, and open source (I think). I'm pretty sure people have done code digs to prove it is safe, and of the thousands (Millions?) of people who use it, almost everyone has it working fine.
