Welcome newbies to the world of Minecraft. Tutorial Island is an island where new players can learn the basics of playing Minecraft. Here you will be taught everything from punching a tree, fishing, cooking, mining, and even a special surprise at the end. This is perfect for anyone wanting to teach a friend on how to play Minecraft but couldn't do it themselves. The Island has over 60 mini challenges to tone your skills and teach the basics of Minecraft.

Map Length: 30 Min - 1 hour

I made this map with my friend Podcrash for my 400th video special. Here is a complete walk though of the map that I did with my other friend Isaac.

Installation Guide:

Since this is a tutorial on how to play Minecraft, we have to teach you how to install this map.

Step 1: Download the map

Step 2: Have a program like WinRAR to unzip the package (Google to download it)

Step 3: Go to your start menu on your computer and click search (its right above when you click start)

Step 4: Type %appdata%

Step 5: Click on the .Minecraft Folder

Step 6: Open the downloaded map with WinRAR and drag the folder named "Tutorial Island by Setosorcerer and Podcrash" into your "saves" folder.

Step 7: Load Minecraft and you are done!

Download:
(Adfly links help support the map maker. Click the "skip ad" at the top right corner after the timer clicks down)

Version 2:

Patch Notes:
-Version 2 has a more "user" friendly tutorial for the first 5 steps.
-Added explanations for the "button" and "display".
-Added a "gate" to the start just in case you didn't click the Gold Block at start.

a great map for the beginner! But I was sad; I was hoping there was tutorials for the command blocks as I have no idea how to use those.
Any topic which I personally start, I will not moderate in.

Current Laptop I'm mining from: Asus Republic of Gamers G60V - 4gb RAM - Nvidia GEForce GTX 260M - Windows 7 64 bit, 2.13 ghz processor, dual core.

Maybe once the redstone update comes out, we may make one solely for command blocks and redstone :P

Updated the map already. The download is for version 2 now. Changes include:

-Version 2 has a more "user" friendly tutorial for the first 5 steps.
-Added explanations for the "button" and "display".
-Added a "gate" to the start just in case you didn't click the Gold Block at start.

Nice! You should like make a library or something and then add a load of books that tell you exactly how a certain block or item works, for reference purposes. I guess that would make it complete.

It's a nicely built map that covers a good majority of the game. The only faults I could find in it was a lack of coverage of shearing and crafting beds, as I feel l that those are a necessary skills for new player to learn, as well as redstone error near the end in the Nether that would not allow the gate to lower.  But overall, a good map indeed. I would totally recommend it to new players in Minecraft.
