not making much sense of your post...
There is only 1 stronghold per map. 1 Nether fortress per map. And that only pertains to the recent created maps.
If it is a map made before the TU7 update then of course it doesn't have a portal, they were not put into the strongholds then. After TU7 it had some problems and a small percent had them, but were broken by the terrain. I find the eye of ender will lead you to the stronghold, not the portal. That part I believe was not intended and possibly will be fixed when the end actually does come out.
If this happens to be a new freshly generated map, then to me that is the first I've heard of one missing one. kinda something I have to see for myself to believe, but.... regardless if that is the case all you can do is generate another one.
Maybe scope it out in creative before you play on your new map. If satisfied, then regenerate it in survival...
My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.

Thanks Bear. I'm not in front of my Xbox right now... and I should have checked the Wiki for the recipe first.

I would suppose the OP wants to find the stronghold itself, which also has chests, stone brick, mossy stone brick, & iron bars.

after all that smelting i decided i was gonna make my map big and everything. so i traveled the land. several times i was near death. i travled for about 20 minutes at night withought dieing. hunger was low and i had half a heart when i was heading back. from everything i did i was lv 25 i was never that high b4 (no joke intended) i made it home it half a hunger left. i went to go check on my animals and when i opened the small gate behind me a creeper blew up. i lost my hours of working with that experience. from lv 25 i became lv 5. after that i continued to mine i was gettin good again then with 2 herts or less a skeleton shoots me in the back while im by lava luckily none of the ores were burnt i think. but when i went back i was only lv 1 or lv 5 AGAIN
i kept getting downgraded. so after i got my stuff i exited and saved and played some Die Rise

There's a lesson to be learned from your story. In an Xbox world, animals are curently very, very plentiful. You can build up XP very fast just by killing them as you travel about the world. Between that and just mining coal, it rarely takes me more than 40 minutes to reach level 30. You can get to level 30 REALLY quickly just by having a spawner trap. The bonus with all the animals around is that you should then always have plenty of food on you to keep your tummy full and your hearts regenerating.
Also, the cows will give you oodles of leather in a hurry; and if you have no better armor, fresh leather armor will allow you handle a creeper blast or two without dying. Once you use all that XP to enchant some diamond or iron armor and get either Protection or Blast Protection, you don't have to fear creepers at all anymore.
