*sigh* thanks Foxtrot11 for bringing this thread back up.
Ow, sorry too, I only checked the last response date. I'll be more careful on the future.

Custom paintings! My latest project, still in BETA.
A small mod to improve your game, but keeping the vanilla flavour. For Minecraft 1.8.
Also check out my Redstone Jukebox mod, now updated to Minecraft 1.7.10!
This thread may become more relevant in the future. Have you seen what Forge has done lately?
I've seen posts saying that with v1.6 you are required to create a folder tree that contains a hierarchy of ".../textures/mymod/textures/..." Which is beyond HiLarious.
And it breaks a general principle of object oriented programming: Don't refer to data in other modules directly, use getData() and setData() type functions.
It stinks of quick hack job, and I really hope they get around to fixing it. Like by making those variables private to the resource class, and adding setter/getter functions.
Use Risugami's ModLoader and make it so that it's incompatible with Forge. People think that Forge is their lord and savior to modding so damn much that they don't even consider the original ModLoader, this is also good because most other mods use Forge, which is NOT compatible with the original ModLoader.
"If you've bought the Game, you may play around with it and modify it by adding modifications, tools, or plugins, which we will refer to collectively as "Mods." By "Mods," we mean something original that you or someone else created that doesn't contain a substantial part of our copyrightable code or content." Is what the EULA says. No substantial part. Meaning that if you run minecraft under it, it'll be fine.
