Hi,

We had a former admin on the server who was deranked. Problem was that they never turned off social spy before they were deranked.

Question is, is there a way I can force a player to turn off a mod? Ideally just /socialspy to turn off the mod, and they'd no longer have access to it to turn it back on. If there was a way I could do this myself without them knowing that'd be great.

Thanks in advance.

You can edit their player file in the essentials players folder!

Go to you server FTP (files) and go into your plugins folder.

Then find essentials and click on that.

Once you're in the essentials folder click the 'User Data' folder.

Find the user you want and click edit.

Inside the folder there will be loads of options and one of them will be:

socialspy: false

Make sure it is set to false.

While you are in this folder you can also check if the user has got powertools on etc...

powertoolsenabled: false

And

godmode: false

Don't forget to reset his balance if you're using Iconomy too!

Once you've done that, save the file and then either restart your server or do /essentials reload.

Hope i helped.

I think you may also be able to do /socialspy <username> not sure though.

As far as I know that isn't possible.
But MadKings solution is a great way to fix this.
