As a powered Comparator into a Dispenser no longer emits a fast pulse does anyone have an extremely compact alternative to share?

Thanks in advance.

Cant use the hopper "ping ponging" the items between them. Comparator emits power, idk. Didnt like that comparator fix :(

Yeah, I went to this forum to start a topic about this too... I also need a compact 1 tick pulse or a monostable circuit or whatever. But most of them don't work anymore because redstone torches don't switch on or off when they receive a 1 tick pulse in the 1.5 snapshots anymore... Does anybody else know how to make a 1 tick pulse now? I need it for the sticky piston bug where it pushes the block and retracts but the block stays where it got pushed because a piston needs 2 ticks to push AND pull a block.

Use a good old rapid pulsar. Those will never break as long as torches burnout.
They are the best option: as compact as 2x2x3 and easy on/off with with levers.

If you wait a minute I'll upload a picture

5 minutes later lolz... Does this work in the latest snapshot though? Realize that redstone torches don't receive 1 tick pulses anymore... (Not sure why)

This can be used to auto empty droppers and dispensers as well as vertical item transportation.

The subtract function of the comparator makes a very fast clock, as fast as redstone can update it seems.

Machine Gun (auto empties but can be set to turn on and off)

Not exactly compact though :'(
We want the old comparators back!

It's only one wider then the comparator only version and at least it's something.  I've been scrambling to fix whatever I can where I used comparators to force updates.

But I don't want anything with droppers or dispensers... Isn't there an easy way to get a 1 tick pulse in the latest snapshot...?

This makes a 1 tick pulse if not a little bulky, it can also easily be modified into a piston-less t-flip-flop which is now my standard choice.

People shouldn't complain since it was a bug.

"It's a bug" isn't an argument. If something is good and useful, it should be kept in the game. It doesn't matter whether it was originally intended or not. Bugs aren't some magical things that we have to run away from at all costs or else we'll die.

I'm not arguing this particular one should be kept around, but your reasoning for why is horrible

BUD Switches were/are bugs, yet people wanted them to stay in the game.
Same with rapid comparators.

Here's hoping we get pulsing comparators back. I suggest everyone tweet at the MC team letting them know we want it back.

Comparators arent really that great of a thing to use for that (due to possible unwanted interaction with redstone)
Maybe it would be better if we could get a simple directional block that forces updates on the 6 blocks it's pointing at much like a comparator did (but now with 2 more directions :)

I changed my mind. I do not think we should get this bug back. The pulsing was very inconsistant and without it I can make some other cool new circuits,

I found it to be flawlessly consistent, and I added it to a ton of my circuits since what I had read originally said it was a feature, not a bug. My support is still for this, and if it's buggy, just fix that instead.

Please keep in mind all the constant updates from the comparators take a lot of processing power.
