Right now i have a laptop that is kinda going down the craper and id really appreciate upgrading to a desktop computer. What i would use it for is video editing with Sony Vegas and playing games on Steam, if i could run all the games on high quality and still have it run smoothly that would be the bee's knees! i don't really have specifics for pieces or parts, just something that can run games on high quality and smooth and also have a lot of space. I have a money quota of a few hundred over a grand, tho if it can stay a grand or lower that would be even better, whatever help anyone could give me is fantastic! thanks(:

I doubt i'll do any overclocking, and alot of games ranging from Minecraft, to Skyrim, to Fallout 3 to even Garry's Mod and even games like LoL and Smite. A bunch really :P I'll also be using Sony Vegas Pro 12, which is probably the only program id be using a lot overall. I'll probably get the peripherals myself, but if it could come with Windows 7 perfessional that would be peachy. Im from USA more specifically Ohio, and i have a budget of about $1,300

Are you building the system yourself, or do you want one that is pre-built?

To save money you can drop the Graphics Card down to a 7870 without too much performance loss.

I'd trade the SSD for a 7970, swithc the motherboard to a M5A97 R2.0 because it's cheaper and get the cheaper and slightly better Seasonic M12II 620.

I wouldn't bother tbh, the 7950 pretty much ploughs through anything anyway. Wasn't sure about the motherboard, seen someone give it a great review on OC.net, thanks for that. Didn't see that it was cheaper.

Go with my build, with these changes apart from the 7970.

You can do it for about half of what they are picking for you. Find a good barebones kit from newegg or tigerdirect. Then add in the missing parts. You can build a very nice rig for $500-$600 USD. Give or take they picked about the best parts out. Which is great for video editing. I was just trying to help save some money.  ( GO BUCKEYES FOOTBALL)

and these will last a while longer aswell...
and the 8350 cpu will be great for the video editing...

He asked for a build at $1,300, and that's what we are doing. Not %100 needed, but still.

The OP didn't say they wanted a $1300 build...they said the budget is around $1300....nothing wrong with trying to save somebody some money....and thx ngsizzle....at least someone knew what it meant.

popsicle club - You said that is what "we" are doing. You haven't done anything on this post yet but try to downplay me. Next time, read into a post a little bit before you try to put somone else's post down. You say mine is not %100 needed....Well I say your was not 100% needed as well. At least mine pertained to what the OP was talking about.

Not %100 needed as, you don't need to spend the whole $1,300.
And I don't think you realize what 800-some posts that I have contributed to the SCT Forum in general...
I haven't contributed in this specific thread because builds have been posted, and they are very similar to what I would have recommended
